            Chapter Three: Crystal

Anita had been awoke for a while, but she didn't open her eyes. She had been listening to the soft angelic chatters that echoed through her ears. Every once in a while, the voices would join together in harmony, producing the softest and most pleasing of melodies. She didn't want to ruin the moment. Anita was afraid that if she opened her eyes, the beautiful noise would vanish into thin air, and that she would awaken in the school's nurse office.

Anita jumped, her eyes flew open. Someone or something had  carressed her cheek. In front of her was a woman who looked to be an angel. Her skin seemed to glow. She had long wavy golden hair. Her eyes were an icy blue, reminding her so much of her mother. Her nose was angled perfect on her pretty face and she had soft pink lips.

"W-who are-" Anita coughed. She was thirsty, so very dehydrated. She needed water. Her throat was dry and raspy. The Goddess before her assisted Anita in sitting up. Sand moved beneath her. She recognized this as an island of some sort. The woman motioned her hand towards the body of water behind her.

"Please, drink."

She wanted to believe that the woman had spoken, but she didn't see her lips move. It was almost as if the voice entered her head. Anita didn't give much thought to it. She leaned her head over the water. Looking at it made her stomach turn. She recalled the encounter of nearly drowning, but being pulled out of water by the same mystical hands that seemed to jerk her in. The nasty water went down her throat forcefully. The salty taste never ending.

Anita found herself inching away. She scrunched her face up in disgust. She never wanted to taste that liquid again. She would throw up if she had too.

"This water is fresh my dear, I promise."

The angelic voice spoke again. Anita glanced at the Goddess, who was looking from her to the water. She wanted her to drink.

Putting her trust in the woman, Anita made a little bowl with her hands and dipped it into the cool water. She scooped some up, and brought her lips to the liquid. It was amazing, indeed fresh water. She started gulping it down, for never in her life had she been so thirsty.

"Slow down."

Anita did as told, slowing down so she wouldn't choke, but she nevertheless enjoying it. After her thirst was quenced, she backed away, panting and finally taking in air. She ran her hand over her mouth and licked her lips.

"Are you done my dear?"

Those were the first real words she heard that didn't appear to be floating in her head. She nodded in response. The lady got up, and held a hand out for her. Hestiating, Anita pondered on the thought before placing her damp hand into this rather soft and delicate one.

She helped pull her up. "My name, is Crystal, Crystal Sarena." She said. Anita looked at her glowing face and hair that seemed to blow in the wind. "My name is Anita Brown." Anita introduced softly. This woman, Crysyal, looked like a model. Anita's bottom lip went out in a pout. She was slightly jealous. "I know who you are," Crystal stated, forming a smile. "How?" Anita asked. Crystal didn't reply. She looked Anita over, and ever so gently, put a hand to her shirt, that was stained red from the incident at shool. Anita frowned, looking down at her appearance. She probably looked like a mess from Crystal's eyes.

"Norah," Crystal called. Moments later, a girl that looked younger than Crystal, but older than Anita appeared from a hidden passageway. She had short red hair, and blue eyes as well. She was wearing an Aqua blue dress.

"Yes, Sister Crystal?" The girl asked.

"This is Anita," Crystal motioned to Anita. The female who's name was apparently Norah, looked her over before giving a smile. "So you are Anita? We have been awaiting your arrival. Welcome." Norah bowed down in curtsy, tipping the side of her dress up with her fingertips.

Anita looked around her. She knew the bow was meant for her, but why? Anita never had someone bow down to her before. It wasn't like she was to be crowned royal, so again, why? "Anita is in desperate need of new clothes, will you show her to the cabin?" Crystal asked. Norah gave a soft nod. "Of course, Sister Crystal. Please," Norah approached the girl, and took her hand away from Crystal's. "Come with me."

She started pulling her away. Anita was scared, she didn't want to go with this stranger. Her hand is colder than Crystal's. She looked back at the Angel, who just nodded at her before turning towards the ocean, her golden hair wavering in the wind again. Reluctantly, Anita gave in to Norah, and followed close behind her. She didn't know what was to come, but she preferred being here than at school where she would have to face teachers, and work, and students, and Katy.

For some reason, this brought a smile to Anita's face. Her confidence brightened and her mood perked up. What reason exactly? She did not know. Maybe it was because they actually noticed her, or because they treated her with respect.

Whatever the cause was, Anita was liking it.
