The Phantom of The Opera (Complete)

A young girl walks up the steps of the Palais Garnier ready for her ballet practice. As she enters she walks to the ballerinas dressing room, to get ready for dress rehearsal. As she gets ready she feels as if someone is watching her. She always knew ever since her father passed away he would watch over her, but ever since she came to the opera house to live and work she has always felt as if someone was watching. "Christine we're late!" A young ballerina called. When Christine's father died she was adopted by Madam Giry. As a child her and Madam Giry's daughter Meg became very close friends. Christine and Meg hurried down stairs to get stretched and warmed up for the rehearsal.

As the rehearsal began the leading soprano Carlotta started to sing in a very obnoxiously loud voice. Carlotta has been with the opera company for more than five seasons. As the Group was rehearsing they were interrupted by the manager Lefevre and two other men walking in. "Ladies and gentlemen - Madame Giry, thank you - may I have your attention, please?As you know, for some weeks there have been rumours of my Imminent retirement. I can now tell you that these were all true and it is my pleasure to introduce to you the two gentlemen who now own the Opera
Populaire, M. Richard Firmin and M.Gilles Andre." Christine have heard of M. Richard Firmin and M.Gilles Andre before but they did not seem they had any interest in the arts considering the we're in the junk business.

"Gentlemen, Signora Carlotta Giudicelli, our
leading soprano for five seasons now."
"Of course, of course. I have experienced all
your greatest roles, Signora." Firmin said trying to impress the self absorbed soprano.
"And Signor Ubaldo Piangi."
"An honour, Signor."
"If I remember rightly, Elissa has a rather
fine aria in Act Three of "Hannibal". I
wonder, Signora, if, as a personal favour,
you would oblige us with a private
rendition? Unless, of
course, M. Reyer objects . . ." Andre questioned
"My manager commands . . .M. Reyer?"
"My diva commands. Will two bars
be sufficient introduction?"
"Two bars will be quite sufficient."

As Carlotta started to sing everyone in the company cringed at her voice. Nobody but Piangi and the managers liked Carlotta.
As Carlotta started singing the second verse Christine heard what sounded like a rope snap. Soon after the sound of the backdrop hitting the stage by Carlotta echoed through the theater along with the sound of the ballerinas screams. "He's here The Phantom of the Opera! He's here The Phantom of the opera!" Meg yelled as she ran to Christine's side.
"These things do happen." Andre said hoping to calm Carlotta
"Si! These things do happen! Well, until you stop these
things happening, this thing does not happen!
Ubaldo! Andiamo!" Carlotta said leaving the opera house hopefully for good.

"I don't think there's much more to assist you,
gentlemen. Good luck. If you need me, I shall be in Frankfurt ." Lefevre said leaving as well.

"La Carlotta will be back." Andre stated nervously. "You think so, messieurs? I have a message, sir, from the Opera Ghost."
"God in Heaven, you're all obsessed!"
"He merely welcomes you to his opera house and commands you to continue to leave Box Five empty for his use and reminds you that his salary is due."
"His salary?"
"Monsieur Lefevre paid him twenty thousand francs a month. Perhaps you can afford more, with Gleb Vaganov as your patron."
Christine becomes stiff hearing the name Gleb Vaganov
"Madame, I had hoped to have made that announcement myself." Andre stated not knowing Madam Giry knew
"Will the Vicomte be at the performance tonight,monsieur?"
"In our box."
"Madame, who is the understudy for this role?"
Firmin asked know that Carlotta will most likely not be coming back.
"There is no understudy, monsieur - the
production is new."Reyer the head conductor stated
"Christine Daae could sing it, sir."
