Okay, so I may not be updating for a while as I have a lot of things going like with Choir, emotional problems and family concerns, but I'll try to update as soon as possible. Also, this is going to be a VERY short chapter, probably only 200-300 words at most.
I flickered my eyes open, a sudden, yet distant warmth rising and falling from behind my back. I lifted my head quietly, to examine who it was, and to my shock, a grey tabby tom lay curled on the opposite end of the nest, seemingly trying to stay away from me.
I looked around, noticing that I had collapsed into Jaypaw's nest, and no other nest's were available at the moment. I winced in embarrassment, and I tried to lift myself up, but a certain familiar grumble stopped me.
"Y/W/N? W-what are you doing awake? It's the middle of the night!" He whispered, his tail lashing slightly.
"I-I...I'm going back to the Warrior's den....I don't want to be a burden..." I replied, hanging my head.
Jaypaw examined my face as if to see my expression. I shook my head and padded out into the clearing, a few bursts of wind over taking me. I moved my legs steadily into the Warrior's den, eying a few cats as I passed by their nests, some cats curled together with each other.
I let out a sigh, before shrinking down into my nest near the corner. I glanced around, sliding out my paws to stretch, only to bump somebody, who let out a hiss and told me to be quiet.
I quickly pulled back my paws, and curled uncomfortably into my small nest, a cold sensation washing over me. And as I closed my eyes, all I could see was when I looked over and glanced at Jaypaw, and all the times we were alone.
I opened my eyes once again, sighing in defeat at my attempts to deny my feelings for the tom. I looked around once more.
My thoughts were only filled with guilt, and regret. Everything finally coming together now.
I didn't just like Jaypaw as a friend. I liked him as maybe...just maybe....
Something more.
