Theme song for this chapter - Drag Me Down , One Direction
My eyes opened, and I glanced around, before my eyes Locked on a tired Jaypaw. I shot up and ran over to him.
" Jaypaw! " I mewed quickly, padding over to him. He brushed past me like nothing had happened.
" Let's find this Lark cat, and get back to camp. " Jaypaw said sternly. I took in a sharp breath, bounding after him.
We ducked under a branch, then began racing across the moor of Windclan. We reached the island and I crossed the log carefully. I leapt onto the island, glancing around wearily. A shadowy figure appeared, and I held my breath.
Jaypaw stood next to me, unaffected. " You have arrived. I was beginning to think you'd never show. " an all to familiar voice sounded.
" Lark, is that you? " I demanded. Jaypaw looked to the voice.
" Smart one aren't you. Yes, it's me. I'm here to answer three questions each from both of you. Make the wise decision. " He mewed, leaping from the tree and in front of us.
Jaypaw went first. " Who are you exactly? " he asked clearly, though fear laced his every word.
" I was a traveler from the tribe of rushing water when we went to the forest Territory. I died in the battle between Clear Sky and Gray Wing. I'm a messenger of Starclan. " he reasoned, sitting and licking his paw.
" Why are you here? " Jaypaw questioned.
" I'm here to deliver prophecies to you, and any cat who is included. " he meowed.
" What part do I play in the prophecy? " Jaypaw asked quietly.
" I'm afraid I can't tell all of that. But I can tell you that if you don't get back to camp, you'll all be dead. " He sneered.
" My turn... " I growled threateningly. " Do we fight? What do we do? "
" That was two questions, but I'll let it slide as one. You fight with your brain, not brawn. You use your brain to outsmart the enemy, and when time comes they will plummet. " he explained. I nodded briefly.
" But aren't they just rouges? They can't do anything that bad. " I stated.
" They aren't ordinary rouges. Some were trained in Bloodclan. Some have a primal thrust for blood. " He hissed, his mangy Head thrusting into my face.
" What will happen? " I asked nervously.
Lark paused. " I can't tell you that. " he grimaced. He took in a sharp breath. " Now Go, before I have to force you. " he growled.
We shot up, and raced back to camp, hurriedly. I climbed a tree to get a view of the fight. My claws unsheathed, but I held back the urge to fight.
" So...we should...? " Jaypaw asked wearily.
" Um, I have no clue... " I whispered.
" I've got it! We could lure them out of camp, sneak everyone out, and lead them into a trap once they return to camp! " Jaypaw exclaimed quietly.
I smiled. " That just might work! Great idea Jaypaw...! " I smiled.
" Oh, and it's Jayfeather now. " he murmured. I glanced down at him.
" It's a great name....Jayfeather. " I repeated. He glanced up at me for a brief moment, as though trying to see me once more.
I blinked a bit before sighing. " So what's the plan? " I asked quickly, my gaze still focused on the attackers.
" We go in and taunt them. " Jayfeather replied. I glanced down at him and nodded.
" Alright, then either me or you go in and get everyone out of camp, and set up a trap, or get the warriors ready to attack. " He explained further.
I nodded. " How will you lure them out? " I asked.
" Since I'm blind, they will see me as an easy catch. But I know this forest better then anyone, and when eyes fail, my other senses become stronger. " He meowed.
I nodded. He leapt from the tree and ran into camp. I heard a loud yell come from him. " catch me if you can, fleabrains! " He hissed.
I chuckled at his words before watching most of the rouges pile out and chase Jayfeather. I leapt down and attacked the remaining ones and knocking them out. I gathered the clan and told them our idea and about Starclan. Firestar lead the clan out of camp, while I gathered some of the unharmed warriors in a line and got ready to fight.
As Jayfeather sprinted back into camp, he leapt to my side and narrowed his eyes. I could tell he was ready to fight. I smiled a bit before the rouges burst into camp. They started reaching us and I crouched, leaping through the air and attacking a cat. I scratched at their eye. They yowled in pain, and clawed my ear. I winced and head butted then and threw them across camp. I glanced over and leapt at a Cat attacking Jayfeather. They felt to the ground.
I bit their scruff and kicked their face, Jayfeather ran over to Graystripe. I moved to their leader who was ready to pounce on an emotionless Firestar. I growled and flung myself towards him. I used my speed to confuse him and pulled his tail, distracting him, and crouching low.
" Hi Fleabag. " I hissed, launching my hind legs into his face and knocked him backwards. Firestar leapt onto him and bit him.
" Leave. Now. " He growled Fiercely. The tom under him winced.
" Fine. You win, but know this isn't over. " he growled, Firestar getting off him. He called his cats to retreat and they fled out of camp. I let out a huff of pride. I looked around. Nobody seemed hurt, and Jayfeather was watching me, before turning his head to a twig snapping.
The rest of the clan emptied back into camp and we celebrated our victory. Cats gathered around me and Jayfeather, cheering our names. I smiled widely and looked over to a proud Jayfeather.
What I saw in his eyes surprised me. There in his faded cloudy blue eyes, I saw spark. A flash, of what I hoped, would help save our clan.
