I was woken up by the chatter of several other students who were on their way out of the ballroom, most definitely on the way to the cliff. Dahl was absent from his sleeping bag next to me. Either he was getting ready for the initiation, or he was already gone to the cliff. Why he hadn't woken me up on his own eluded me. Dahl's concern for my sleep schedule didn't matter, anyway. I needed to get out of my pajamas. I escaped my sleeping bag and headed toward the nearest bathroom with my backpack. One of the free stalls was all I needed to get dressed, and once I was finished, I emerged from the stall and was immediately faced with one of the several mirrors that sat above the sinks.
I saw myself standing in the open doorway, wearing the same style of shirt I always did. White, button-up shirt that I never completely tucked in, and my sleeves rolled up to reach just above my elbows. The dual strap suspenders that were attached to my skirt almost matched the color of my hair, being a light pink. For today's sake, I had my hair tied up in a ponytail, instead of the usual mess of it being free and down. My personal evaluation of my outfit ended when someone walked past me, obstructing my view in the reflection and set me back into Remnant. The girl that passed was the one with black and red hair, who had caused quite a ruckus last night. She was obviously in her pajamas, and was probably in here for the same reason I was.
Some people were still asleep once I made it out of the restroom. Sapphire was one of them, right next to Magenta. Before going to wake them up, I placed my backpack atop my unkempt sleeping bag, and made sure Quia Gaudium, my personally designed dual chakrams, were tight around my wrists. I wore the circular blades as bracelets to keep them in close reach, and expanded them when they needed to be used. I never had any real ranged form of them. If I really needed to attack from a distance, I would throw them like discs.
Sapphire snored loudly, somehow not waking Magenta up by doing so. They were the only two left asleep, and would most likely be late to the cliff launch if I didn't wake them up myself. I bent my knees to get into a crouching pose beside Sapphire. I poked her nose bridge, which seemed to do nothing. My finger sunk into her cheek until I began pushing her head to her right.
Her eyes fluttered open and she looked to me drowsily. "Good morning." I greeted her into the day. She didn't speak back and sat up. She used her right hand and forearm to rub her eyes, probably trying to remove crust from them. "Did I oversleep again?" She asked me. She must've overslept yesterday as well. "Yeah, I'd say so. We've got ten minutes to reach the clifftop." I reported.
"Oh crap! Really?" She instantly quit the sleepy act and jumped to her feet. She kicked Magenta to wake her up, and it surely worked. "Magenta, get up!" Sapphire ordered loudly.
"I'm gonna go ahead and head that way, see you there." I pointed toward the door with my thumb. I didn't need to stop by the locker room, as I already had Quia Gaudium around my wrists. Magenta stirred to a seated position within her makeshift bed, clearly not listening to Sapphire's rushing orders.
When I arrived, most of the students were already lined up on concrete platforms. I saw Linen in her natural clothing, but I didn't have a chance to fully observe it. Dahl was standing on one of the first platforms, he must've been one of the earliest students. When I walked past him, he gave me a two finger wave and I gave one back. I looked down the line of occupied platforms until I saw a vacant one. I also noticed Pyrrah Nikos standing patiently on one of them. I completely forgot she was my age. Someone with such prestige, in the same class as me. She wouldn't be a bad teammate, that's for sure. The first vacant platform was next to a young man I'd never seen before. I stepped onto it and looked back the way I'd come. Sapphire and Magenta were sprinting downhill to reach the clifftop. The two of them slowed down once they reached the line of students and walked, out of breath, to the platforms next to me. The moment Sapphire stepped onto the platform, she put her hands on her kneecaps and leaned forward, breathing heavily from the strain on her stamina. Magenta seemed just fine, stretching her arms atop her platform.
