Aster stood in the middle of the dorm room, just in front of the rest of the team, including me, watching the holographic screen. VNN showed images and recovered security camera footage of a midair robbery that went down the night before. Lisa Lavender made it very apparent that it was Carraway weaponry that was stolen. Aster watched the camera footage like a hawk.

Things were looking good for the team last night. I'd managed to snap Aster from his strive to impress the General, or at least getting him to put it on hold for the team. After our talk at the fountain, we walked together to lunch, hung out with Blossom's team, and Aster was actually smiling. I went to sleep expecting things to be smooth sailing from now on, but of course, someone goes and steals precious cargo from Aster's family's company.

"Do you know what it was they stole exactly?" Liz asked.

"It's a prototype barrel, for a very big dust cannon. Whoever snatched it still needs to get the other three pieces. The barrel's useless without them." Aster explained.

"Any idea who'd wanna steal a weapon like that?" I asked.

"First suspect that comes to mind is the White Fang, but those guys didn't look like any White Fang soldiers I've ever seen. Could be bandits, though I'm ninety percent sure bandits aren't equipped to pull of a heist 25,000 feet in the air." He evaluated.

"Maybe someone new? They could be looking to sell it to someone like the White Fang. How much do you figure that thing's worth?" I asked.

"Unless they manage to find someone dumb enough to buy a barrel without a firing mechanism, it could be worth millions. It's state of the art tech." He admitted, keeping his arms crossed as he watched Lisa Lavender wrap up the story.

Yara looked at our room's wall clock. "We should get going. Class starts in ten minutes." She announced.

I looked to the clock to verify. "Yeah, she's right. Let's head out." I agreed, turning off the projector with my scroll and following my teammates out the door.

Yara and Liseran didn't wait for me while I made sure our door was shut tight, but Aster stood in the middle of the hall while I shut and locked the door. He walked by my side as I started down the hall.

"Do you think I should get involved?" He asked.

"Hm? With what?"

"The stolen barrel. If those people don't plan on selling it, they could be trying to build the cannon." Aster sounded worried.

"I don't think first week academy students should be worried about that level of trouble. I'm sure Atlas has it handled." I tried reassuring him.

"Atlas doesn't have the jurisdiction to handle it, Dahl, at least not with extreme force. Each of the parts are stored in a different kingdom. Last night they got Mistral's." He explained.

"Do you know where the Vale piece is?" I asked.

"They didn't let me know many details, but I know they shouldn't be in the sky, sitting and waiting for trouble. Someone authorized transportation when they weren't supposed to." Aster said.

"Who's allowed to do that?"

"Only two people, as far as I know: my dad, and the General. If Ironwood made the order, he wouldn't have just sent it in some random ship. But why would my dad want it taken out of Mistral?" Aster started talking to himself more than he was to me.

I placed my hand on his shoulder to grab his attention, "Alright, let's focus on being students, and then we can start looking into this whole thing. You can call the General, or your dad, and ask them about it."
