The three of them followed close behind me through the halls until we finally found our dorm room. Since I was in front I was the one to open the door and enter first. The room was as basic and bland as you could get. White walls, four beds and a window.

"Huh. I thought it'd be cooler." Sapphire broke the silence.

"That's why we're here, Saph. We get to make it as cool as we want." Magenta assured her best friend.

"I'll take the first bed." Linen announced as she approached the far left bed and set her single bag of luggage on the bed's surface.

I figured that Sapphire and Magenta would want neighboring beds so that meant I'd be taking the bed next to Linen. I plopped back onto the softness of the bed and slightly sunk into it. The day was basically over, besides dinner tonight in the cafeteria. What a day, though.

Magenta took her vest off, set it on her bed, and began rolling her neck to pop it repeatedly. Besides the sounds of Magenta's neck popping the dorm was silent.

"So... Where are you from?" Sapphire broke the silence.

I sat up and looked at her, and realized she was speaking past me, to Linen. Noticing this, I turned to see Linen, in hopes of learning more about my partner. She looked unprepared to answer the question.

"Um, I was born in a Village close to Mistral, but we moved here to Vale when I was young." She kept it brief.

"Ooh, so you were born outside the kingdoms?" Sapphire questioned further.

"Yeah. I was too young to remember anything about it, though, so I couldn't tell you what it was like." Linen answered.

"How about you, Blossom?" Magenta joined in, asking me the next question.

"Vale. Born and raised." I was ready to respond.

"Same for us." Magenta confirmed for herself and Sapphire.

"How long have you two been friends?" I asked.

Sapphire's face went dead and she wore the most confused face I'd seen in my life. She then turned her upper body and looked up into Magenta's eyes. "How long has it been?" She was dumbfounded by it.

"Nine years, ya dip. We were eight when we first met. Been friends ever since." Magenta easily answered.

What a team we've got here. Half of it doesn't even want to stay in a room with us. I sat on the bed I chose and looked out the window I opened earlier. Liseran, whose name I'd just recently learned, was fiddling with the blade of her chain based weapon. Both Yara and Aster were gone, doing who knows what. Neither of them showed up to even set their stuff down.

"You good with weapons?" I asked.

She looked up at me and smugly smiled at me. "Good at making them, or good at using them?" She asked.

"Both...?" I originally meant the ask the second one, but I wouldn't mind hearing both answers.

"I'd like to think I'm good at using them, otherwise I don't think I'd last long here, but I'm a self entitled genius when it comes to building and dissecting them. My dad's a weapons engineer. He taught me everything." She explained.
