The door blasted open, sending splinters everywhere. Soldiers rushed in, their rifles instantly aiming at us. Before anyone could notice me, I used my semblance and dashed outside. I made for the trees, hoping to escape into the massive forest outside the village, but before I could dash again, I was stopped, pulled back by an overwhelming force. My arm was yanked behind me. I turned around, terrified of what could've been holding me back. It was dad, grinning wide, with his hand wrapped tight around my wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I pulled away as hard as I could, hurting myself in the process, but my arm didn't budge one bit from his grip. I looked down to my arm, and noticed the spreading black veins, traveling up my arm like decay.

"No!" I screamed repeatedly, now smacking at him with my free hand. The veins disappeared underneath my sleeves and soon made themselves known again, running up my neck.

I heard nothing but my own screaming and his low laughter, growing louder as it became more maniacal. The veins spread up my cheek, and started swallowing my sight.

I shot up from underneath my covers, shocked to find that I was safe in the dorm room. My breathing was heavy and sweat ran down my forehead. Blossom was already up and ready for the day, and her head shot to me.

"Hey. You alright?" She asked.

"Yeah... yeah. Just a nightmare." I replied, as calm as I could manage.

"Again? That's the sixth one in the last two weeks, Linen. Was it the same one?" Blossom questioned.

This was getting bad. I didn't want to admit it, but it was the same exact nightmare as it had been the last five times, each one ending the same way, every time.

"It was." I told her blankly.

Blossom let out a frustrated sigh, keeping her hands on her hips as she stood next to my bed.

"Maybe class can take your mind off of it, make you focus on something good. It's about that time anyways." She suggested.

"Let's hope." I half agreed, throwing my covers off of me.

"Sapphire, Magenta! Wake up!" Blossom commanded, throwing one of her own pillows at Sapphire.

The cushioned pillow hit our petite teammate right in the head, jolting her from her sleep.

"Bah! Wha-" She looked around.

"It's eight-forty, class starts in twenty." Blossom announced.

I couldn't help but smile a little at Sapphire's morning crisis, watching as she jumped to wake up the sleeping Ursa that was Magenta. I kept my smile as I retrieved my school uniform from my drawer, taking off my pajamas in my corner of the room. I zoned out from the growing chaos stemming from my ornery teammates, entering my own peaceful but troubled world as I put on each piece of my uniform. In the last three weeks since school had started, I'd grown accustomed to wearing the uniform, losing my distaste for it quickly.

This place keeps me safe from them. The least I could do is wear the outfit.

I did the last button on the blazer, and adjusted the sleeves until I felt they were most comfortable. Sapphire and Magenta scrambled to get ready, in an unnecessary rush, like usual. I went to put my hair up into the normal ponytail, but stopped before I touched my hair, and lowered my hands back down to my sides.
