Faye Above
Faye POV
"Ugh! Where the hell is my assistant?!" Julia walks in my office and stands in front of me with a nervous look, "You fired your last assistant, Ms.Curtain." I look at Julia and she shifts in her spot. I let out a long sigh, "Can you help me with these reports?"
She quickly nods her head, "Yes ma'am, what do you need me to do?" Julia works at the front desk, she doesn't usually do this type of work for or with me. "I just need you to sort them out in alphabetical order." She nods her head and sits in front of my desk.
My name is Faye Curtain, I am the CEO of my own company, Curtain's Company. My company deals with other businesses. I help businesses get to the top if the business does well I get part of their income. I've never failed to bring a business to the top.
Nothing was handed to me, I built this company up myself. I've worked and worked for something like this every day.
I look at the time, "It's time for lunch. Julia, you can take a break." She shows me a nervous smile and walks out. As soon as she walks out, my best friend, Sarah walks in. "What exactly are you doing here?"
She gives me a bright smile, "How long have Julia been working here? I know it's been a while, she's still scared of you." I shrug my shoulders, "I don't know see why. I'm nice to her."
She sits in front of my desk, "Well you are known as the ice princess." I throw my pen at her and she dodges it, "What?! I'm just stating the truth!" I roll my eyes and cross my arms, "What are you doing here?" She clears her throat, "I just came by to tell you that you really need a new assistant. You know around this time of the year your schedule gets busy. You're going to need all the help you need."
I throw my head back, "I know, I know. I'm about to head out for my lunch break and you need to go back to work yourself." She stands up and winks at me, "You know I hate work." She walks out and I let out a long sigh.
I walk to the elevator and head downstairs. "Julia, I'll be back in an hour." She nods her head with her mouth full of food. I zip my jacket up and walk outside.
As I'm walking outside I see someone laying on the ground. I walk up to the body and see an attractive man. I nudge him with my foot, "Hey, you can't sleep in front of my building, wake up." He doesn't move, I bend down and poke him.
All of a sudden I hear a growling noise. I jump back from the sound, "That sounded like a freaking animal!" I stand up with a sigh and go back in the building, I go up to my guards and they look down at me. "Can y'all help me carry this man to my office? And Julia can you order some pizza and wings?"
The guards follow me outside, I point to the man on the ground. One guard picks him up and the other picks up his bags. We head back up to my office, "Just lay him there." They lay him and his stuff down and walk out.
I get a bucket and fill it up with warm water. I get a towel and wipe his face, "You're quite an attractive man. What are you doing out here in this cold?" Growl. Growl. Growl. Growl.
"I can't believe someone stomach can sound like that!" I unzip his jacket and take it off. I don't even know why I'm helping him. I should have just sent him to the hospital.
45 minutes later
Julia comes in with two boxes of pizza and two boxes of wings. "I order the food liked you asked, ma'am." She sets the food down and rushes out.
You've been working with me for the longest and you're still scared of me. I get a plate and put three slices of pizzas on the plate and some wings. I shake the man, "Hey, wake up!" He slowly opens his eyes and looks around.
He sits up quickly and stares at me with his gray eyes. "Where am I?" I hand him the plate, "You're in my office, I found you half dead in front of my building." He looks at the food and his stomach starts to growl, I suck my teeth, "Please eat! I am so tired of hearing your stomach complain!"
He starts eating and I pour him something to drink. "Did you carry me up?" I look at him as if he was crazy, "Hell no! Does it look like I can carry you?" I hand him his drink and he takes it, "I had my guards carry you up."
I make myself a plate and sit on my desk. "When was the last time you ate?" He looks at me with his mouth full, he swallows his food, "Two days, the last time I ate was two days ago. I was on my way to the shelter, but I guessed I passed out in front of your building."
He looks at the box of pizza and then back at me, "You can get some more if you want. I'm not going to eat it all by myself." He stands up and gets him two more slices of pizza.
"What company is this?" I wipe my mouth and look at him, "Curtain's Company." He stops eating and looks at me with wide eyes, "You're Faye Curtain?! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to bother you!" I arch my eyebrow at him, I put one leg over the other and look him in the eyes.
"How would you like to become my new assistant?"
