Calvin's POV
I woke up to light glistening through my open window at 10:58 AM. The sun shone across Paige's serene sleeping face. I turned onto my side to look at her. A few minutes passed before her hazel eyes fluttered open.
"Hi." She said with a smile. I gave her a peck on the nose.
"Morning." I replied. She caressed my cheek with her warm, little hands. I opened my arms slightly and she snuggled up closer to me. We stayed like that for a while until I heard Paige's moan vibrate against my chest.
"Ugh." She said. I lifted her chin so I could see her.
"What's wrong?" I asked her, she looked into my eyes and frowned.
"I need to shower." She rolled over, almost falling off the bed. I grinned and stifled a laugh. She punched me teasingly. Paige walked over to her backpack and brought out a red t-shirt and another pair of black leggings. She grabbed a towel from my closet and looked at me. I waved at my nose pretending like she smelled bad. She stuck her tongue out at me.
"You're such an a-hole." She said with a grin, before walking out to the bathroom. I laughed and rolled over onto my back, wondering how I'd ended up with such a perfect girlfriend.
I got out of bed and took my sweater out from the closet when I heard Paige's phone vibrating deep within her backpack. I stumbled over to the bag and began rifling through her textbooks and homework. Finally, when I came across the phone, someone had left a message. I pressed the play button and listened as Paige's best friend's mom's voice rang out from the speaker.
"Hey Paige dear. This is Rachel's mom, Kerry. How have you been? I know you're staying at Calvin's this weekend but I just wanted to check up on you. Also, I wanted to remind you that your first therapist appointment is today at 12 PM. I hope you're well sweetie, see you tomorrow night."
The voicemail cut off. I stood in silence, only hearing the sound of the shower running, and Paige's singing. Therapist? When did she get a therapist? I slumped onto the bed, pondering when she was going to tell me.
10 minutes went by and Paige walked into my room wrapped in a towel, her face and neck still dripping with water. She stared at me.
"Calvin, what's wrong? You look upset." She said to me. I looked up at her face.
"When were you going to tell me that you had a therapist appointment?" I asked her bluntly. Her face contorted to shock.
"I, I um...I was going to tell you, Calvin, I swear." She said, her towel was beginning to slip away from her hands. I quickly got up and shut my door.
"Okay, and?" I pushed for more. She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment.
"It wasn't even my idea, okay? Kerry, Rachel's mom, she...she thought it would be good for me. She thought...I don't know, it would make me feel better, I guess." That's when she noticed her phone in my hand. She frowned. "Were you looking through my phone?" I looked at the screen.
"Rachel's mom, she was calling you and--" I looked at her eyes, her expression telling me to stop talking.
She let her towel fall and started putting on her clothes, without saying anything. I couldn't take my eyes off her flawless shape. She walked up to me, slowly kissed me on the cheek, grabbed her things and walked out the door. I sat there, cursing myself for being so insensitive.
Paige's POV
Tears were forming in my eyes, as I walked down the stairs. I wished I'd told Calvin about the therapist sooner. I didn't want to go, I never wanted to go. I didn't want him thinking he couldn't trust me, after 3 years of being together.
