Paige's POV
I knew it was all too good to be true.
We stopped on the way home at a fast food joint. We laughed all the way inside, we laughed as we ordered our food, we laughed as we ate. When we started leaving we heard shouting from behind the building. The voice sounded dreadfully familiar. Calvin halted in his tracks. I knew he had recognized the voice as well. His face turned pale.
"Where's the rest of it? I need all of it, bitch." The voice growled. We made our way to the back of the joint. An intoxicated Mason was standing there, a wad of blonde hair gripped in his hand. His "girlfriend's" face was contorted with fear, her eyes filled with tears. Calvin's grip on my arm became tighter. There was a open cardboard box on the ground, the contents had spilled out of it, clearly revealing many packets of some type of strong drug.
Mason violently let go of the girl's hair and pushed her. She let out a cry of pain as her back hit the wall. I sucked in a breath sharply. Mason's face twitched and he spun around at neck-breaking speed. When his eyes landed on us, his face became an angry red. He let out a bloodcurdling shout. Calvin pushed me behind him.
"Go, Paige. Run to the car. Lock yourself in." He said, his voice low and serious. I couldn't even process what I had just seen. The girl, that girl had been bringing Mason drugs. All this time. It was her fault, and now it was coming back to haunt her. Their secret. Revealed.

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW. It's short.
But yeah. Hopefully the next chapter is less depressing. Hopefully.
