Paige's POV
My eyes opened quickly. It was still pretty dark out, the sky was turning into a dark shade of blue. Through the window, I could see glimpses of sun rays peeking out from the clouds here and there.
I turned over to my side, to face Calvin. His arm was wrapped around my waist. I watched him sleep. His face looked so peaceful as I listened to his light snoring. I snuggled closer to him so our foreheads were touching. His embrace felt so warm.
I placed a hand on his cheek and caressed his morning stubble.
"Time?" I heard him grumble. His eyes were still shut, I wasn't sure if he was awake. When I didn't answer for a couple seconds he opened his eyes and frowned at me. I stifled a laugh at his confused look.
"I don't know." I said to him. He turned his head a little to look at the clock on the wall.
"Paige, its 5 AM. Go back to sleep." He sighed and started to move onto his back. I giggled when I felt his fingers move on my stomach. I closed my eyes momentarily.
When I opened them again the summer sun was blazing into our room through the window. "Mhmm!" I said, stretching in the bed. Calvin had a tight grip on my hand. I looked at him. His eyes were open and he was staring at the ceiling.
"What's on your mind?" I asked him. He didn't look at me. Instead he grabbed both my arms and yanked me onto his body. I yelped. "Cal!" He smiled at me. I leaned down, my arms still in his hands, and kissed the tip of his nose. We just lay there, me on top of him.
He fooled around with my hair, lifting strands of it up and down. "Calvin, what are you doing?" I asked him as he laughed childishly.
Then I realized something. "Calvin!" I said sharply. He let go of my hair and let his hands drop, stroking my shoulders.
"What!?" He said with the same amount of excitement.
"It July 4th!" I said with grin. Calvin laughed with me.
"FIREWORKS!" We both said together. Calvin bumped up his knees, I leaned backwards against them.
"Well? Go shower, we need to get to the beach, stay there the whole day and watch FIREWORKS in the evening!" I said happily. Calvin wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Care to join me in the shower? You need one anyway." He said, I pretended to gasp.
"What does that supposed to mean?" I rolled off of him and slapped his arm playfully.
"C'mon!" He grabbed my arm and dragged me to the bathroom. I groaned. We entered the bathroom and he stared at me for a couple seconds. Suddenly he yanked off my pajama top, shorts and underwear.
"I could've done that part myself ya know." I mumbled through a blush. Calvin rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Help me then?" He asked, I rolled my eyes and slowly peeled off his clothing and started the shower.
After playing around in the water for a while, we finished up, got changed and headed downstairs for some breakfast. I grabbed a gray sweater to wear over my outfit, a colorful, top with spaghetti straps and light blue denim shorts.
"Just grab some toast and coffee for the road. The beach is like 3 hours away." Calvin said. I nodded and skipped over to the coffee maker.
We got into the car and started down the highway. The sun was shining through the car window making me feel so content. I sighed, my eyes were beginning to close.
"Take a nap, Paige. We got an exciting day ahead of us." Calvin said to me. I took hold of his hand that was resting on the glove compartment, and let myself drift off to sleep.
