Aaron's POV:

I stared at the back of her head, her hair glowing, the rest of her body just a silhouette. I will always love the way she stood out from the rest of the world, no matter where she was.

"Yo, Aaron".

I wasn't paying attention to him- I could barely hear him.

"Aaron," David said again, this time, shaking me,"Dude, what's going on with you. You're not even paying attention to the game".

I couldn't keep my eyes off her; the way her hair flowed down to her back, her smile, a genuine smile, her eyes also bright. I could do this again: I could go up to her and tell her.

" You're looking at Dana?".

I looked over at him,"Yeah".

"Go for it."

I've never been good at talking to girls first- I have to dmit, they always came flocking to me.

"She's cute, and you can't take your eyes off her, man. It's a sign" David said.

"That's not my style. They come to me".

David's been my best friend since as long as I can remember. He should know this small detail.

David laughed. "And you always get bored. Maybe she's what you need. I don't know any guys who she approaches so that might not be her style" he said mocking me.

I don't know what it was, but at that second, that moment, I got some hope. I had no idea what I was going to say but I was going to say something.

I couldn't get the way the wind blew her hair out of my head. I couldn't take my eyes off her, afraid that I would miss something.

Watching her step up to the plate to bat next, I silenced everything around me and payed close attention.

Her form was perfect as she stood there doing some smooth move with the bat.

That made me smile. She always does that before she hits the ball.

"Dude you're sprung" David taunted me but I ignored him. My mind was only on her.

Dana's POV:

"STRIKE ONE!" the umpire yelled.

"Fuck" I mumbled under my breath.

This was not ok. I was not playing like myself.

"Come on DANA!" I heard Brianna yell.

'Get your head in the game' I thought to myself.

The ball was thrown again and I swung.

"STRIKE TWO!"

UGH!

I looked over into the audience and spotted my parents. As annoying as they were, I was so happy they were here. My mom had some pom poms she was waving around and my dad had my number written across his forehead.

Aw, they are such good sports.

Then I spotted the three guys who seemed to be making my life very complicated at the moment.

Bryce was making out with some girl who of course, I'd never seen before. Calvin was sitting between two fat guys looking very uncomfortable. He pretty much deserved that. I didn't even want him here in the first place.

And then there was Aaron. I was surprised that he came to softball games and something inside of me hoped he came to see me.

SHUTUP DANA! Sheesh.
