Part 10

The next night:

We are all sitting around the dinner table eating the grilled chicken, veggies, and mashed potatoes mom made. Cassie just finished telling us all about her date with Liam, causing mom and I to squeal and smile and dad to internally vomit meanwhile the little girls just sat there in their own little worlds. 

"So babe, have they found someone too play Riley yet?" Mom asks Dad.

"Who?" Cassie asks

"They are trying too cast someone to play my 16 year old teenage daughter." Dad explains causing me to be more engaged in the conversation.

"Ohhh that's cool" Cassie says quickly loosing interest

"But no they haven't found anyone. We just cant find an actress who looks like me and can act well." He sighs

"Well what if I audition?" I ask causing everyone too look at me

"What?" Both my parents ask

"Well I mean I look like you. I don't know if I'm a good actress or not but there's always a first time for everything. Besides I always wanted to be either an actress or a singer when I grow up. And who better too play your teenage daughter than your teenage daughter?" I try to convince but they both look hesitant "Come on please. How many episodes is it?" I ask

"4" Dad says thinking hard

"See! Only four. Not like I'd be a series regular anyway. It would be four and done." I say "Just an audition" I beg

"Well if you are really serious about this?" Dad says

"I am" I say and he nods

"I guess if you are going to do this I would like it to be on your fathers show" Mom says

"So is that a yes?" I ask and they both look at each other then back at me and nod.

"I'll call Bobby and set up an audition" Dad says and I squeal happily getting up to hug him. We finished dinner and Mom and I did the dishes as Dad called Bobby about an audition.

"Alright small fry, we leave tomorrow morning at 6 am. Your audition is at 10. I have a copy of the script in my office so I'd go grab it and start practicing your lines" Dad says coming into the kitchen.

"Okay thanks!" I say and run into his office to get the script that's on his desk. I take it up to my room and spend the next few hours memorizing and practicing lines. I pack a bag for our trip tomorrow and go to bed. I wake up the next morning at 3:30 and dad and I get to the airport at 5. We go through security, grab coffee, and get on the plane. Since we have to go straight to the audition from the airport when we land I do my makeup and hair in the plane and practice my lines some more.

"You ready?" Dad asks as we stand outside of the audition door. 

"Mhm" I say nervously "No" I sigh

"Hey. You'll do amazing. I know it." He smiles and I nod "Now go knock em' dead" I nod and take a deep breath walking into the room.

"Hello Miss Diana Ackles" Bobby smiles and I laugh

"Hey Bobby" 

"You ready sweetie?" He asks and I nod

"Yes sir"

"Alright begin when you are ready" He says. After reading three pages the audition is over. Bobby smiles at me almost proudly and dismisses me. When I go outside Dad is there waiting for me.

"How'd it go?" He asks excitedly

"Good I hope" I laugh and he nods

"I'm sure you did great" He says 

"Thanks"
