"Do you think that's his girlfriend?" Prem asked Arthit, taking a sip of his drink. They finally have gotten a chance to relax after distributing the gears.
Arthit turned to look at whom Prem was referring to. Kongpob and Praepallin seemed to be having a serious conversation in a far corner away from everyone else.
Arthit emptied his glass in one go as he watched them bitterly. He couldn't necessarily complain. Praepallin was a beautiful girl, and there was something about the two of them that he couldn't quite put his finger on. They looked too compatible.
"You could tell him how you feel and know his answer for sure," Toota said matter of factly as he took a fry off Arthit's plate. "I for one am dying to know what's under all those... clothes," he continued as he peeked at Kongpob over his glasses.
Arthit was feeling more irritated than amused. "Don't talk about him like that," he said glaring at Toota.
"Getting territorial over him already Ai Arthit? That was fast," Knott cut in.
"He has more to him than his looks." Arthit knew he was falling for his friend's trap to tease him. But he couldn't help it.
"And you know this because?" Prem asked him seemingly surprised at his behavior.
"He grew up well for someone who doesn't have a father."
His friends were silent.
"I still think he is a dick. I'm not surprised you fell for him Arthit. Birds of a feather.. etc. etc.." Bright said trying to lighten up the mood.
Arthit stood up with another drink. "I'm going to the beach. I don't want to sit here with you losers."
"Oh, come on. We were joking. Sit down Arthit."
"Oh, let him go, Prem. He is a wuss who can't even confess to the guy he likes. But we have to see his attitude," Knott said grinning provocatively.
Why did he always have to fall for his friend's tricks?
He sat alone at the beach looking at the beach.
"Why have you sitting here alone P' Arthit?" A voice that always made his heart do cartwheels asked.

Arthit smiled into the kiss, he was right, Kongpob did like him back.
They broke apart.
"I have been waiting to do that for a long time," Kongpob said breathlessly.
Arthit smiled shyly, "Me too."
Kongpob leaned in and rested his forehead on Arthit's.
"P' Arthit, I think I'm falling in love with you," he said in a voice heavy with emotion.
Arthit responded enthusiastically with another kiss.
**************************
Arthit wondered if it was a smart idea to ask Kongpob to join him with his friends at a gaming arcade.
He was sure his friends were going to tease both of them. He just wanted to spend some time with Kongpob and not make his friends feel abandoned.
What Arthit didn't have to worry, Kongpob seemed to be a pro at everything.
"Do you play at arcades often N'Kongpob?" Knott asked.
"No P' Knott, this is my first time here," he answered politely.
Arthit watched Kongpob play a shooting game.
For the first time in his life, he felt a strong wave of suspicion. The way Kongpob held the gun and his stance were too perfect.
Arthit himself learned how to use a gun just in case. He even owned one. Maybe he was just being paranoid. Since he started his ' side job' he had been on his toes.
"You play well Kong! How did you do that?" he asked Kongpob.
"Oh, I just watched P' Prem play and picked up the general idea."
Arthit's heart sank, Prem was a terrible player.
He shook off the odd feeling Kongpob was good at everything he did.
*************************
Arthit sat on the floor leaning against Kongpob's legs watching a movie. Kongpob was massaging his neck. Arthit was sure his soul left his body for how good it felt.
"You have strong hands," he commented.
"Do you want to know what else my strong hands could do P' Arthit?" Kongpob asked.
"Kongpob.. stop talking and keep going."
Kongpob's laugh always filled his heart.
"P' Arthit, wait a minute. I will be right back."
Arthit leaned against the frame of Kongpob' s bed waiting for Kongpob to return from the bathroom.
He suddenly felt the bed frame vibrate. Arthit thought it probably was the TV when he felt it again. Kongpob's phone was on his dressing table. Where did it come from?
The vibration stopped. Kongpob's phone binged noisily.
Arthit looked at the bathroom door, and there was no sign of Kongpob.
He got up and tiptoed to the dressing table and took a look at the phone. It was a text notification.
[Jean: Ai Sing where are y...]
The rest of the message was cut off. Who was Sing? Was it a mistake? But the number was saved. Who was Jean? Where did the vibration come from? It sounded a lot like a phone.
Did Kongpob have two phones? Where was the other one?
Arthit quickly returned to the place he was sitting. His heartbeat was frantic.
Something wasn't right.
************************
"I'm sorry, I won't be able to see you tomorrow P' Arthit," Kongpob told Arthit sadly.
"But it's Saturday!" Arthit said pouting. "Are you going book shopping with N' Praepallin again?" he asked sarcastically.
Kongpob smiled, to Arthit he looked uncomfortable.
"My father is sick P'. So I'm going home." he said.
"Your father?" Arthit asked, surprised.
"Why do you look surprised P' Arthit?"

"Ai Knott, I think the cops found us."
