Monday. 3:57 pm
I didn't go to school today. It was so boring to attend school on Mondays. No interesting classes....full of physics and chemistry. On top of that, the teachers make me sleep!
Do I have to move on from Jamie? I have held on for so long and I have to let go of him all of a sudden? Will I be able to do that?
I have my own doubts.
I wrote in my dairy and got up from my chair to lay on my bed.
Damn! Mondays were so boring! Cara would still be in school. Heck, everyone would be in school but me.
It was a very cloudy noon and the weather was absolutely inviting for a warm and cozy bath. I got into my jacuzzi and lay there, god knows for how long.
I think I drifted off to sleep, with 'Thousand Years' by Christina Perri playing in the background.
________________________________________________________The whole week went by in a blur.
Thursday. I was writing my biology record when my phone beeped.
Luke:
Hey...we're planning to go to 'Geostorm' on Saturday.
Are you in?Carmen:
Um...I'll let you know in another ten mins:)
I honestly didn't want to go as I have had bad experiences with hanging out with friends, back in eighth grade. Before meeting Omar, Holly, Jamie and Stephen. But it was still awkward for me to hang out with them in ninth, tenth and eleventh grade as well. I used to feel so out of place. And every time they weren't around, the other kids used to make fun of my weird English accent and bully me. Damn, I don't even want to remember that.
I went downstairs to fill my stomach. I went into the kitchen to find something when the door bell rang.
I opened the door to find dad. Dad? Seriously? So early?
"Hey dad! How come you're early today?"
"Hi Honeybunch! Your mom didn't tell you?" He asked me, walking into the living room.
"Uh...no. What is it?"
"Your mom and I have to fly to my parents' place for some family meeting exclusively for elders. We're flying tonight."
"Gosh! Is everything okay?" I asked, worried.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry. Everyone is alright. Will you be okay by yourself?" He asked.
"Yeah. Don't worry about me. I'll do fine, dad." I said, reassuringly.
"You can invite your friends for a sleepover. No restrictions." He said, winking at me.
"Okay, dad."
Jut then, my phone beeped.
Luke:
You're in, right?
I saw dad accidentally peeping in my phone. He read the previous message and smiled.
"I'm glad you have new friends. They care about you so much."
I smiled.
"So...you're going to the movie right, Honeybunch?" Dad asked.
"Um...no dad. I'm not good with movies, hangouts and all that. I'm declining the offer, though."
"They're your new friends, Carmen. By the looks of it, they're definitely not like your old classmates. I can feel it. I'm sure you'll fit in alright with them. Just go." He said.
