I was filling up my form for the upcoming fest in the living room.
I couldn't help but hear some sniffing sound from somewhere around my parents' bedroom.
I dropped the pen on the paper and walked straight towards my parents' bedroom.
The door was closed.
I pressed my ear to the door, trying to hear their hushed voices.
"I am not able to hold it in me anymore, honey." I guessed that my mom said that, in her crying-and-sobbing voice.
"I know, Beth. I know what you're going through. I'm just in no state to express how I'm feeling too." My dad replied.
Que paso?
Uh...excuse me? What's going on here? Can I get a little update, please?
"He barely remembers us and he knows that we miss him so much. Why isn't he responding to us?"
"Had he been here with us, we would've celebrated his birthday."
"He'll be turning twenty seven. In a few days."
"How would Carmen react?"
React about what?
Who is 'he'?
For the first time ever, my parents were hiding something from me. It sounded like it was a big thing and it got me thinking about who it is and what exactly they were hiding from me.
I was in no mood to channel my inner Sherlock or Kate Beckett to find out about the mysterious person since I was caught up with my own life.
I slowly walked back to the living room and settled on the couch, to make it look like I knew nothing about what was going on.
For a Friday evening, my parents were home unusually early and they were cooped up in their room. I didn't want to disturb them since they never got to spend time with each other that leisurely.
So why should I butt in and invade their privacy, right?
That's exactly why I was in the living room, feasting on oreos and watching Riverdale on my phone.
Damn. Cole Sprouse aka Jughead Jones was so hot and the dark and mysterious aura radiated from him every time he spoke.
The south side serpents jacket though....it made me drool over him every time he wore it!
The episode suddenly stopped. That's because my phone rang.
Ava calling..
"Sup, Ava?"
"Riverdale. You?"
"Holy shit! Me too!"
And then, the fangirling over Jughead started. We could go on and on and on about it, without getting bored.
"Oh! I almost forgot to ask you." She said.
"Talking about Jughead does that to you and me. Now tell me."
She chuckled in agreement and continued, "Wanna watch black panther with us?"
"Whoa! Wait a sec! I was planning to go to the movie!" I exclaimed.
"Perfect! Then you're coming with us."
"Who's this 'us'?" I air quoted but then realized that she can't see me doing it.
"You, me, Luke, Calvin, Preston and Ruben." She echoed in enthusiasm.
Preston and Ruben were close to us and they were the definition of Greek gods.
