Come on!!!! Why isn't he picking up my calls!
I'm seriously freaking out now....I kicked the board beneath my feet on the porch.
I called him again. For the seventh time. No response.
Oh come on! Pick up the damn call, Jamie! I yelled in frustration.
It was seriously getting to my nerves that he wasn't picking up my call.
My phone rang, to which I jumped in anxiety, hoping it was Jamie.
But no. It was from an unknown number. I nevertheless picked up.
"Hello?" I said, shakily.
"Do you know Jamie by any chance?" The unrecognizable voice asked.
"Jamie as in...Jamie Cooper?"
"I don't know, ma'am. He's tall, dark brown curly hair, light brown eyes." The voice said.
"Oh yes! I know him. But who's this?" I asked, in an uncertain tone.
"Uh... I'm just the pedestrian who was crossing the road. Jamie was in an accident, minutes ago. I found your number so I immediately called you. No one picked his call, so I found your number first in the speed dial and called."
My breath hitched. My heart started beating frantically.
"Oh my god! Is he okay?" I squealed, tears brimming my eyelids.
"He's unconscious, ma'am. His head is bleeding heavily. He's not waking up even after sprinkling some water. Oh god! I'm not getting his pulse now!" The voice exclaimed from the other side.
No. No. No!!!!!!!!!
"No!!!!! That's not happening. I want my Jamie back! Where are you, sir? I'm heading right there."
"Hello?" No response.
"Hello? Sir? Can you hear me? Helloooooo?" I yelled.
Still no response.
"Ma'am?"
"Yes, Sir? Tell me where you are." I said in a hurried tone.
"His breathing has stopped."
I froze in my spot.
"His body is as cold as ice."
No. This couldn't be happening. No!
"His lips have become pale blue."
I sunk to my knees.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I've lost him."
My phone slipped out of my hand and fell onto the porch. Tears escaped my eyes and streamed down my cheeks.
"Noooooooooooooo! Jamie, noo!!! Stay awake! Please!" I screamed through the hot tears, feeling a sharp pang in my chest.
"Pebbles! Pebbles! Estas Bien?(Are you okay?)" I felt someone shaking me by my shoulders.
I shot my eyes open, realising that it was all just a dream. I sighed a breath of relief and Vin helped me to sit up, propping my pillow behind me.
He wiped my tears and that's when I realised that I had been crying. My palms were all sweaty and there were beads of sweat on my forehead.
"Relax, Pebbles. Te Tengo(I've got you)." He said, rubbing my back and snuggling closer towards me.
"Jamie...in an accident.... I got a call....he's unconscious.. No pulse...his head bleeding....not responding...cold as ice....his lips pale blue....they'd lost him...oh god no!" I said, in between my heavy breathing.
