Toret Anala's head was screaming with pain as he sat up in a forest. He soon found that was a bad idea and dropped back down to the ground. His back was killing him! What had happened? He went back over his day. First, he had gone to work. He had a successful day and had found many of the rather rare supplies for Alchemy. There had been something bothering him though. He was going to have to miss out on Ember and Dune's function. Toret then realized he didn't even know what day it was. He hit his hand down hard on the ground. How had he gotten out here? He didn't even know where he was! He didn't trust himself to be able to walk so he crawled over to the nearest tree and used it to get himself up. It took quite a bit of effort but Toret finally got stood up. He wondered if his family had even noticed he was gone.

Ember rolled out of bed at 5:30 in the morning and was exhausted. She had a long day ahead of her and frankly, didn't think she was ready. She stumbled to the bathroom and took a look at herself in the mirror. This was something that she didn't do often. She looked in the mirror quite a bit but she didn't look very deeply at herself but today, today she did. She saw a willowy teenage girl with curly purple hair. She noticed her green eyes and her fair colored skin. These were things she normally never took the time to look at. Ember didn't see anything powerful about herself.

Ember ransacked her closet, looking for something to wear. It was a harder task then it sounded. Finally, after minutes of frustration she settled on a black tank top and white thigh length shorts and her running shoes. She threw her hair up in a loose ponytail and grabbed her shoulder bag with her notebooks in it. She didn't know if she would need them but the bag also held the books Ember read for entertainment.

Ember met Ash outside her room like planned. He was already there waiting for her by the time she left her room.

"Girls are just too slow." Ash grumbled. Ember gave him a stern look.

"Or maybe you're just way too fast?" Ember argued. That shut Ash up. Ember decided to change the topic as they walked down a hallway. "Do you know where we are supposed to go for Air Imitation?" Ember had no clue so she hoped Ash did.

"Yes, follow me." Ash answered shortly.

"Follow you off a cliff?" Ember muttered irritably. Ash rolled his eyes at Ember.

"What's with all the sarcasm?"

"For your information, I'm always full of sarcasm. I have to be. I have a twin brother and secondly, you're not exactly being nice." Ember defended herself. All Ash did in response was grunt.

The student rooms were at the bottom of the building and classrooms were placed on the second floor and up. Ash led Ember up three flights of stairs to the fourth floor. Then, they walked down an empty hallway. At the end was a wooden door that Ash knocked on.

"Come on in!" A gruff voice yelled through the door. Ash slowly opened the door and slipped inside. Ember followed him reluctantly.

The room simply had one desk and two chairs and one bookshelf. Other than those four items, the room was empty. The floor had an intricate design on it though and Ember's eyes were drawn to it. There were many swirls and in between the swirls was a circle and inside the circle was a miniature swirl. It had this same pattern across the whole room. Both the floor and the walls were that sky blue. A man was standing behind the desk with no chair. He looked old but seemed fit. He was also oddly tall. He was taller than Ash who was taller than Ember by a couple of inches and Ember was fairly tall. She was about 5'10''.

"Take a seat." He said fiercely. Ember collapsed into the nearest chair but Ash stared at the man a moment more before finding the other chair. The man also had a short thick black beard.
