Ember woke up slowly and blinked her eyes a couple of times. She was in a dark room and she couldn't make out any of her surroundings.

She sat up and called out, "Ash!" She almost called out for Weston but then remembered that he was working for Dune.

Ember sighed and pressed her hand to her head. There was a sharp pain shooting through it and she was exhausted.

"Dune! Ellis! Someone?" Ember shouted despite her headache.

She finally heard thumps on the ground. It was the sound of boots and they were heading her way.

"Hello Ember." A soft voice said. It was one Ember didn't recognize.

"Who are you?" Ember whispered.

"You don't know me."

"Don't you have a name at least?" Ember pushed.

"My name is...Darkett."

The lights flickered on and Ember was momentarily blinded.

When she could once again see, the room was empty.

Ember huffed and pulled her self to a standing position to take in her surroundings.

She was in a prison cell with walls made of stone and a stone floor as well. The cell was empty. Across the room was another empty cell identical to hers.

She had never been in the prison and she had never once thought she'd be locked in a cell yet, here she was.

Ember closed her eyes and leaned against the nearest wall.

What was she going to do?

Ember snapped her eyes open when she heard voices in the hallway. She frowned when she recognized Ellis's voice. She had been kind of hoping that the mysterious Darkett person would return.

Ellis, Weston, Dune, and several other men stopped abruptly in front of Ember's small cell.

Ember rolled her eyes at Dune's appearance. He was wearing dark jeans and a black t-shirt. Over the t-shirt he wore a black leather, unzipped jacket. His hair was sticking slightly up but Ember was sure he planned it that way.

He also had a smirk on his face.

"Hello dear sister." Dune said. Ember opened her mouth to say something sarcastic but closed it and chose to ignore him.

"Are you really going to ignore me?"

"Where's Lev?" Ember ignored him.

"Lev?" Dune asked, confused. Ha, even the 'great' Dune was confused!

"My dog!"

"Oh that. He's in the Yard." Dune answered.

Ember released a sigh of relief. Lev was okay.

"And where's Ash?"

Dune just laughed at her question.

"You want to know where Ash is? Why don't I show you." Dune motioned to Ellis, still with the smirk on his face.

Ellis pulled a key out from around his neck and unlocked the cell door. Ember was to weak to attempt to fight anyone so she remained in her position against the wall.

"Come on Ember, we haven't got all day." Dune said impatiently. Ember glared at him and pushed herself off the wall only to collapse on the floor.

Ellis, being the gentleman that he was, rushed in and helped her to her feet. Once she was on her feet, Ellis wrapped one arm around her waist and held on to Ember's arm with the other.

They slowly walked out of her cell. Dune just shook his head and walked down the hallway. Weston, glancing back at Ember, followed Dune. Ellis and Ember followed them and the guards fell in behind them.

................................................................

"He's right in there." Dune pointed at a wooden door.

Ember nodded and swung open the door with Ellis still helping her walk.

Ash was lying on a white bed with a bandage wrapped around his head. His eyes flickered open when he heard Ember gasp.

Ember pushed Ellis away and ran to Ash. At least she tried to but she was still too weak and she fell to the floor for the second time in ten minutes. Instead of letting Ellis help her, she crawled on her hands and knees to Ash. Then, she used all of her energy to pull herself on to the bed beside Ash.

"You don't look so good." Ash mumbled.

"Hey, that's not what a girl wants to hear!" Ember smiled. "Besides I'm fine. I just have a little headache. Thats it."

"Doesn't seem very little to me." Ash muttered.

Ember ignored him. "How are you doing?" She asked softly.

Ash shook his head and then winced.

"I'm great."

"Don't lie to me, Ash."

"Really, I'm okay."

"Why do you insist on lying to my sister?" Dune approached the bed. "Tell her."

"I'd rather not." Ash argued.

"Well then I will. Ashyo here, is dying. Its not too painful but he will be dead by the end of the week." Dune stated.

"Then help him!" Ember cried out.

"Why would I do that? No, in fact I don't even want him alive that long."

Dune pulled a knife out of his pocket and held it up.

He brought it down on Ash's left thigh. Ember screamed and Ash opened his mouth but made no sound.

"Dune, stop it! Don't kill him! I'll do whatever you want! Don't kill him!" Ember cried hysterically.

This time Ember wasn't going to sit back and watch as Dune stabbed Ash. She wiped her tears and when Dune brought the knife down, she hurtled herself in front of it, blocking Ash.

The knife pierced her stomach and blood splattered the bed. Ember shrieked and began gasping loudly. Tears poured down her pale face.

Dune shoved Ember over and Ember watched as Dune drove his knife into Ash's heart. Blood flew everywhere and Ember couldn't do a thing. Her vision became blurry but she found Ash's hand and grasped it with her own.

"I love you Ash." She whispered.

He must of heard her because he whispered back, "I love you too Em."

Ember could literally feel as the life drained out of him. Even after she knew he was gone she held his cold hand.

It wasn't long after that when Ember was lifted into someone's arms and was carried to the Medical Building.

"I love you too Ash." Ember repeated over and over to herself.

He was gone.

He was really gone.

Okay, I just made myself sad. I've been in a great mood so instead of writing something happy, I write something sad.

That makes sense.
