Alex's POV
With Lynn's words Drew released the time. As soon as she did so the boy started crying and screaming as the cheetah growled lowly and stalked forward. I moved aside so the cheetah could see the boy that it was so protective over. "Wait," I said as the Cheetah continued to move closer, "We know what you are and were not going to hurt you or him! We will let him go, but first, you have to change back."
The Cheetah lunged forward and I looked at Lynn for help. "We can prove it okay?" Lynn asked as she through up a plan. She turned toward the now red face boy and said, "Think of something, anything, and I will read your mind." The cheetah growled louder the closer we got to the boy but we had to prove ourselves.
The boy nodded and meekly said, "Okay got it."
I looked to make sure the cheetah wasn't making any moves to kill Drew, who was right next to me and then focused on Lynn and the boy again.
"Alright," she remarked her eyes glazed over as she dug into the young boy's brain, "Sammy, please stop, don't hurt them!"
The boy started nodding vigorously before he said in his childlike voice, "Its okay Sammy! Their good you can turn back!"
The cheetah completed a sort of nod and walked into the woods. I heard an accompaniment of rustling before a brown- haired girl in a purple t-shirt came sprinting out of the woods. She looked a bit older than Lynn and Ibut I wasn't sure how old exactly.
"Thomas!" she called as she sat next to the boy and started to untie his ropes. She got them all untied before she stood up and gave us a good hard look. "Why are you guys here?" she asked studying us to the point where I was getting uncomfortable.
"Probably for the same reason you are," Drew commented shifting his weight onto his left foot.
I looked over at the boy, Thomas I think it was, and said, "Did you have an odd dream and end up here too?" Thomas nodded but continued to cower behind Sammy.
She looked at me like I had just announced Darth Vader and Yoda were brothers. "Wait you had that dream with that head too?" she asked her eyes widening by the second.
"We all did, " Lynn started walking closer to Sammy, "But before we get into our destiny and all that heavy important stuff, I think we should at least introduce ourselves."
Sammy nodded and pointed to Thomas, "His name is Thomas as you already know. He is eight years old and has super strength. Although his powers are fairly undeveloped they are still pretty cool." As she said that Thomas stepped out from behind Sammy and gave us all a little wave. Sammy smiled at his gesture and continued with, "I'm Samantha but you can call me Sammy. I am fifteen years old and have shapeshifting powers as you have already witnessed." She looked at Drew, Lynn and I before saying, "Well what about you guys?"
We all introduced ourselves and got to know a bit more about Sammy and Thomas. They didn't really go into much detail but from what they told me I could tell they hadn't really had the best lives either. It felt good to be around other people who sort of knew what you were going through, even if you really even didn't. Once Lynn had finished filling them in on our current situation we got down to business.
" I don't get," Thomas said his eyes shifting to all of us, "Why would anyone want to hurt you guys? You are all so nice!"
His innocence was so adorable but I knew he wouldn't be that way for long.
"Well," Lynn said, "Walking over to Thomas, "Alex's parents aren't very nice and they don't really like Alex because he is more powerful than them. They have a very strong group of people that are willing to fight with them because they believe the same thing. But what they don't know is that Alex has us and whoever the person who brought us here is on his side." Lynn looked over at me a nodded while giving me a big smile. I love it when she smiles. Ugh! Stop Alex stop!
