Drew's POV

I tried falling asleep, I really did, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that somebody was watching us. Though, I guess it makes sense that I'm always suspicious since I've been an orphan as long as I can remember. I lied to Alex and Lynn about me just looking for the flashlight, that wasn't what I was doing at all before the blackout, but they can't know that yet. Anyway ever since Lynn decided to quote-unquote "teach me" and get those bananas from the tree I've had this feeling that we were being watched. I thought that it was best not to tell Alex and Lynn in case I was wrong, I really need them to trust me. But now every time I heard a rustling I semi-freaked out thinking that-well- one of the many people I had dealt with had come to claim their end of our bargains.

Suddenly I heard a loud snap, possibly a tree branch, followed by an equally as loud, "Ouch!"

Okay, that's it I need to check this out! I slowly turned over to see if Alex and Lynn were asleep before I got up and started to creep away from the clearing we were now in. If it was who I thought it was they certainly couldn't know about them because if I didn't do what I was supposed to I was dead, literally! As I got deeper and deeper into the forest I could hear a rustling almost as if someone was running away. Oh no, they don't! I was losing them they were getting farther and farther away before I head an echoing crack of a tree branch followed by incoherent whispers. I started to jog as fast as I could over to where I believed the mystery homo-sapiens were. But right as I was about to get close to the small boy hugging his seemingly hurt leg I was tackled by, well something! The thing got off of me and I opened my eyes that I didn't even realize had been shut to reveal the beast standing before. It was a giant ferocious, cheetah. It snarled and growled at me making me cower back before pleading, "Please stop whatever or whoever you are! II-I just-uh- !" I continued to stutter before I realized I was totally dumb for not using my power earlier! Just as the cheetah pounced ready to end me I raised my right hand and stopped the time. I did the first thing I could think of and sprinted out of that place!

"Alex! Lynn!" I shouted at the top of my lungs as I bolted through the jungle. I didn't even know where I was running but I just kept calling out Alex's and Lynn's names while going wherever my legs were taking me too. I kept going but I was getting so tired. Right as a surprisingly helpful thought crossed my mind, my foot got caught in a vine and I came tumbling to the hard ground. Barely able to hold onto my consciousness I released the time knowing that Alex and Lynn couldn't help until I did. I hoped that Alex and Lynn were close because I wasn't going to be able to stay awake much longer.

Just as I was about to fall into a very deep and involuntary sleep I heard two voices saying something but I was just so tired. "Find Them," I managed to squeak out before the darkness consumed me.

I woke up to the sound of muffled whispers coming from above me. I started to stir and open up my eyes slowly.

"Drew, thank goodness your okay!" I heard Lynn gasp as she came over to help me up. I then noticed the weird feeling near my head, I reached up to touch it and felt a leaf.

"Be careful!" Alex shouted coming into view. "You were bleeding so we put that on you, I strongly suggest that you don't touch it." I nodded in his direction, that sounded pretty fair to me.

"Okay," Lynn remarked, "Now that you are awake we have some questions but we will start off with the most important ones; what happened and who is them?" She looked at me ready for a long explanation. Alex also looked at me with the same expression on his face, my god were they alike!

"Well," I said trying to formulate the sentences in my still throbbing head, "I thought I heard these noises coming from the deep part of the woods, so I decided to check it out-"

"Without us! Are you completely insane!" Lynn shrieked interrupting my train of thought.

" Maybe if you let Drew finish he would get to that part." Alex retorted switching his focus from me to Lynn and back to me again.

"I probably am crazy but I didn't want to wake you," I started again continuing from where I left off, "So I went to check it out when I heard I think two people running off. I chased after them but one of them was what I think is called a shapeshifter because they turned into a cheetah and started to get too far away from me. But right as I was about to stop chasing them the little one fell off of the cheetahs back and I think broke his leg.I went to try to approach the little one bu the cheetah tried to attack so I stopped time and ran as fast as I could to try to get back here." I paused debating whether to tell them about the vine or not. I was pretty embarrassing but I decided to tell them any way I had to be truthful about the things I could be truthful about so I continued with, "Then I caught in a vine, fell, and hit my head. But, I realized I needed to continue the time so you could help me so I did and then you showed up."

"Okay," Alex said looking at me skeptically " But who did you want us to find"

Should I tell them that I think the cheetah and boy are the others we need to find I thought.

Just as I said that Lynn emitted a gasp. Dang, if I forgot she can read minds too! "Really?" she asked her mouth hanging wide open.

"I think so, yeah," I answered hoping I was right so that I could earn their trust.

"What?" Alex asked as clueless as he always was. Lynn and I just kept staring at each other, both of us still very much surprised.

Alex asked a couple more times before Lynn answered with, " We think we know where the others are."

But before she could finish saying anything else Alex abruptly stood up and pulled a rolled up piece of paper out from the ground. He unrolled the rolled the scroll and gasped before handing it to Lynn who also gasped before handing it to me. They immediately started whispering so this had to be important. In unruly print the paper read:

A large battle has come. The evil is close and knows their stuff but if you find the others you have this won. So make the right decisions and get the job done.
