Alex's POV
I have to admit Lynn's plan sure did surprise me, as well as confuse me. How was I suppose to reach that level of happiness? There's no way! "Okay, Lynn." I said trying to stop laughing "Your plan is amazing in all but how is it going to work?" I looked at her and she just stared at me like I had just turned into an octopus.
"Ummm what do you mean?" She asked still giving me that same look of uncertainty.
"Well," I continued looking down at the ground and kicking the soft sand, "Sure it was easy to get me really angry, but-
"yeah a little too easy," She snickered cutting me off.
I look at her and purposely flashing my eyes black. She then yelped and jumped back cowering, dropping her phone in the process. I chuckled as I continued, " As I was saying before I was SO rudely interrupted." I looked over to see her scowling at me, I once again continued with " It was easy to get me angry but how am I going to get elated."
"Well," She said while dusting off her now sandy phone, "What makes you the happiest?"
I pondered that question, what really did make me happy anymore? I hadn't been overjoyed in so long I didn't really know anymore. There is one thing ...
"You," I muttered dreamily as I gazed at the horizon. Not realizing what I had said until I could feel Lynn's stare burning through my skull.
I just looked at her hazily not know what to say. I didn't even try to think of anything. But then suddenly her look changed from surprise to, was that passion?
"Really" She commented scooting closer too me making me feel slightly uncomfortable. "Is that so?" She question, again moving closer to me.
"UHHHHHHHHHH!" I said practically drooling over her perfection. I couldn't even comprehend what was happening. Of course, I had always had a crush on Lynn, I mean how could you not?! With her long blonde hair cascading down her lightly tanned skin. Oh and her eyes, her eyes! They shone like emeralds lighting up whenever she was happy. Not to mention she was brilliant, but hilarious at the same time! Don't even get me started on her laugh! Ugh! She was like an angel from heaven. So yeah I do like her if that answers your question!
"Well?" She said again sooting closer, we were touching now. I could literally feel sparks of electricity were we touched. It was amazing.
"Yeah I do like you" I whispered unsure of what she was going to say next. Her eyes lit up, the bright green melting my insides. We just sat there for a minute enjoying each others company. The crashing of the waves on the beach carrying along the moment perfectly.
"Good," she said shifting to face me. Before I even had the chance to protest or do anything, not that I would, Lynn leaned in and kissed me! Her lips crashed onto mine as I just sat there bewildered. Just as quickly as it had started it ended. Lynn pulled away and started to look around with a look of pure confusion on her face. "What?" she muttered, "I thought it would work"
I looked at her sheepishly and said: "What do you mean I thought it would work?" She looks at me the blood rising to her cheeks as she continues to look around. I could practically see the wheels turning in her head as she thought up a witty response.
"Promise you won't get mad if I tell you?" She asked me looking very worried.
"It depends," I said my eyes narrowing.
"Here goes!" she said shifting her feet in the sand. "Imayhavekissedyoutoseeiftheweatherwouldcomeback!
"What?" I said not understanding a word she had just said.
She just sighed and repeated, "I may have kissed you to see if the weather would come back." She then cringed back as if expecting a blow.
Instead, I just sat there. It was like someone sewed my mouth shut and shackled me to the rock. I couldn't move or say anything. I thought she might have actually liked me for a second. Well, I was wrong like always!
"I'm so sorry!" she cried grabbing my arm, "But that's the problem! You were happy and the weather didn't come back!"
She read my mind again! Ugh, I wanna kill this girl! But she was right, as always. I was happy, ecstatic even and nothing happened! Did I do something wrong? Was I not happy enough? Well, I could definitely eliminate the second choice because I sure was happy enough. Great! Now we were back to square one, maybe even farther back to where we had started.
"Can we please just forget this?" She asked hopefulness in her voice. She looks like a deer in the headlights, probably just fully comprehending what had just happened herself.
"Fine," I grumbled shaking my arm out of her tight grip. I stood up and started pacing back and forth letting my steps time with the crashing of the waves. "But what are we going to do know?" I questioned still pacing.
"I don't know. " She answered, " I really don't and you have no idea how much that scares me." She got up and walked towards me matching my pace.
Oh, trust me I thought. I think I have a pretty good idea.
