Zayn's POV
All of the sudden the angry brown-haired girl came running at me. "You took him!" she shouted in a sort of animalistic way.
I gave her a puzzled look before saying, "Took who?"
She took yet another step forward letting out a loud scary sound. Did she just growl? She then clenched her fist and through gritted teeth said, "You know who. Where is he?"
"I didn't take anybody because trust me I wouldn't waste time with kidnapping. If this was my doing they would be dead with you along with them," I insinuated taking another step, "All I know is some dumb note said to come here. Don't ask how I got here because that person is gone now. So if you could please point me in the direction of the so-called others that would be great." I was now directly in front of her staring into her chocolate colored orbs.
She let out another growl of frustration and I could practically see her canines elongating. "Fine," she forced out, "maybe you can help." She then started walking at a brisk pace off into the abyss of this jungle.
"What do you mean help?" I questioned trying to catch up with her.
I heard a slice like sound before she stopped abruptly. She then whipped around to face me and said, "If you don't shut up I am going to tear you limb from limb and string your organ across the trees like birthday streamers." She then flashed me her long and probably fatal claws.
My eyes widened significantly before I squeaked out a, "Shutting up now." We both began to walk again passing many tropical trees and other greenery along the way. The gloomy weather was really bringing down my mood. But there was one thing that was on my mind; Where is Alex? On the back of the note, there was a map saying that he was here. I could hear the rushing of a body of water before the girl stopped short.
"We are here," she mumbled stepping aside revealing two unconscious bodies.
I gasped as I realized who they were. "What happened to them?" I asked shaking their bodies.
"Why do you care," she questioned walking toward me, "Aren't you the evil brother? The one who wished Alex was dead and made him run away in the first place? Or are you not the person that made fun of Alex and Lynn for years condoning others when they hurt them? Or better yet maybe you're not the person that helped his parents complete countless evil deads over and over again."
I looked at her stunned. She was right, why did I care. Maybe they were dead. That's what I wanted, after all, wasn't it? I had said it countless amount of times, so why does it feel wrong now? "No," I said standing up, "you're tricking me so I'll let down my guard, and on my birthday of all days!" I mumbled the last part so she couldn't hear it just in case. I waited for Alex to spring up but he didn't. "Why isn't he waking up?" I asked.
" I already told you," she sighed, "I don't know." She then gasped loudly before running off towards the river yelling out, "I have an idea!"
I followed in pursuit of her careful not to trip on any tree roots. When we got to the river grabbed a fallen coconut from the ground and began to smash it against a large tree.
"What the heck are you doing?" I asked also picking up a coconut from the littered ground.
"Breaking the coconut so that I can fill it with water," she said in a duh tone continuing with action, "you'll see."
I just shrugged my shoulders and started to help. I mean it's not like I had much else to do. With each strike, I could feel the coconut coming closer to breaking. I stuck the tree harder knowing it was only a matter of time before it snapped. The with one finale blow the coconut broke in half slicing into my hand while doing so. I dropped the coconut and groaned while clutching my injured hand.
