25: Visiting the Baby

Ryan woke me up the next morning lightly shaking my arm. "What?" I asked slowly stretching.

"Let's go meet Ethan and Mercedes baby," she said quietly.

"Did they tell you we could come?" I asked slowly rubbing my bare chest. She nodded slowly.

"Get up and get dressed," she said then walked out of my room.

I sighed then sat up changed out of my pajamas. "Is it a boy or a girl?" I asked walking down the stairs and looking at Ryan who was quietly eating cereal.

"It's a girl," she smiled lightly.

"What's her name?" I asked grabbing an apple.

"Alex," she said when I took a bite out of the apple.

After I finished my apple Ryan and I headed to the hospital.

"Mercedes wants us to be Alex's godparents," Ryan said after a few minutes of driving.

"What did you say?" I asked squeezing her eyebrows together.

"I told her that I was honored but I don't think she should pick us," she said slowly. "Like relatives of theirs," she mumbled. "But she hasn't changed her mind," she chuckled.

"Why don't you want to be Alex's godmother?" I asked confused, "You basically threw her a baby shower," I chuckled.

"Because what if something actually does happen to both of them while we're still in high school?" she asked lightly. "And if we do break up, not saying we will, we'll still have to see each other all of the time because we're Alex's godparents," she sighed.

"Why do you keep bringing up the possibility that we'll break up?" I sighed lightly.

"Because there's a chance, Zach," she sighed back. "I'm not saying I want to break up with you," she mumbled.

"Then stop bringing it up Ryan," I chuckled slowly turning into the parking lot.

"Sorry," she said when I parked the car. I turned the car off then looked at her. She unbuckled then looked at me and smiled lightly. I smiled back then kissed her on the cheek.

"Okay, let's go," I said then slowly climbed out. She climbed out then took my hand and walked with me into the hospital where Ethan was waiting patiently for us. He smiled and lead us to their hospital room.

Mercedes was looking out the windows holding a little bundle in her arms. Ryan smiled lightly and walked over to Mercedes. "Do you want to hold her?" Mercedes asked quietly. Ryan nodded slowly then held out her arms.

"She's tiny," Ryan whispered to Mercedes.

"She is tiny," Mercedes nodded then smiled when Ethan slowly wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Did you ask Zach what we asked you?" Ethan asked after I sat down and Ryan handed Alex to me.

"Yes I did," Ryan said then nodded. "As long as you two don't die or anything anytime soon, I'm fine with being Alex's godmother," she smiled then looked at me.

"What about Zach?" Mercedes asked after smiling brightly.

 "I'm fine with being her godfather," I nodded slowly looking at Alex who was slowly waking up. She slowly moved her arm while she yawned. Mercedes walked over and took her slowly while smiling.

"We won't be in school for the next few weeks," Mercedes said sitting down to breastfeed, "So can you guys get our homework for us?" she asked slowly rocking in her chair.

"Yeah, no problem," Ryan said while slowly sitting on my lap. I chuckled then wrapped my arms around her waist slowly.

"You are being clingy," Mercedes said to Ryan with a chuckle.
