Celaena P.O.V
This was my last job. My last job for Arobynn and then he would free me and Sam. We would be free to live our lives as we wished. All I had to do was meet some fae female about a trade agreement that Arobynn has with her. I walked into the bar I was suppose to meet the fae woman in. I looked around and saw that there was a table open in the corner of the room. I sauntered over and sat with my back facing the wall. As I was walking over to my table I observed the bar. Two exits four windows. Seven fae males at the bar. One cloaked person sitting with his back to the wall and sitting closer to the door. I didn't fail to notice that the males at the bar were staring at me. Why would they not I'm beautiful. I thus Arobynn said that the woman's name was Felicia. I walked to the bar and asked the bartender if he knew a Felicia. He said no. That's when the seven males at the bar made their move. They tried to grab my arms and legs. I beat them up one at a time. Eventually they got me pinned down because one of the men threw beer at my face.
"Maeve will be very happy that we found you."
My blood chilled. What did Maeve want with me.
"There is a rumor going around that she made a deal with a notorious assassin king. It is said that he sent Maeve a powerful fae. And that that fae would be looking for a female going by the name of Felicia."
Arobynn sold me to Maeve. He would never do that. He said me and Sam could go free. I knew he wouldn't keep his word but I was stupid enough to believe. I guess Maeve's price was just to food for Arobynn to resist.
"You don't look like a fae to me. Maybe you are just at the wrong place looking for the wrong person."
I decided to play a scared damsel. Let them drop their guard around me. Then I will split their throats.
"No please sirs, I'm just looking for my sister Felicia. I know nothing of Maeve or an assassin king.
I added a quiver to my voice.
"Josh she doesn't look like a powerful fae maybe w should just have a little fun with her and then kill her."
Josh huh. These men were all scumbags they deserve to die.
"She has knives on her Enrico, and she fought well. Maybe we should tie her up first."
The male in the corner of the bar got up and walked towards us. He removed his hood. He had a black tattoo going down one side of his face, white hair and pine green eyes.
"This girl is mine."
"No was Rowan, we found her first. Maeve said she would pay anyone who found her.
I knew this wasn't going to end well for the males. This Rowan was built like a solider. His eyes spoke about how he lived over many lifetimes. He had a look in his eyes. The look of pure loss.
When he spoke it was barely more than a whisper.
"You have heard of me yes?"
The men nodded. Rowan continued.
"I'm sure you have all heard of that little town in the middle of nowhere. A town I destroyed. Do you want the same him to happen here?"
All the males shook their heads no.
"Good leave the girl and tell no one of this."
The men let me go. As they turned around to leave I took my fighting knives and killed them all. I slit some of their throats, some of them got my knife to the back of the head. They probably had raped other girls before. Rowan looked at me with no fear in his eyes. I'm sure he had done worst.
He signalled me to follow him and I did.
"So Rowan where are we going?"
"To meet Maeve."
Right, I almost forgot about that. I turned around to run. Rowan spoke before I bolted.
"I wouldn't even think about running. Maeve has someone very important to you in her company. A certain Sam. Arobynn sent him as some sort of persuasion method to get to go cooperate."
Shit, Maeve had Sam. There was no way I was letting her keep him.
"Lead on my scary fellow."
