Aedion P.O.V
I knew Aelin was following me. But I was too angry to tell her to stop. My mother could have been alive now, if my "father" would have given us money to save her.
"Aedion please stop walking away from me!"
I stopped and turned around to look at my cousin.
"What Aelin?"
"You didn't even give him a chance to explain himself. Rowan has told me about their manager Maeve. He says she practically controls them with their contracts. Fenrys says she uses the contracts like it's a blood oath."
I have heard of the Cadre's manager. She is known to be ruthless and cold. But that wasn't an excuse.
"It doesn't matter Aelin he could have sent us money secretly."
Sat down on a large rock that happened to me in the middle of the path. Aelin sat next to me.
"Do you know how Maeve got Fenrys to join the team?"
I did. She used his brother, Connall. Rumor has it that Maeve has them serve her in the bedroom too. I didn't answer Aelin.
"Maybe you should give your Father another shot."
"Fine. Let's go back. I'll talk with him but only of you stay with me."
"You know I will Aedion. Just remember, Gavriel must have had a very good reason. He wouldn't of just left you."
"Alright, I said I'd give him a chance. I can't promise that don't get mad at him. It's just so hard to look at him. Knowing that he betrayed my mom."
