Dorian P.O.V
"Thank you so much Aelin for inviting me to judge this bake off."
I tried to make that sentence super sarcastic so that Aelin would know that I didn't want to do this. She rolled her eyes at me.
"Oh please Dorian, you know you missed me and wanted to spend time with me. Well I have a bet going with my competitors. Whoever wins gets imence bragging rights."
My jaw practically dropped to the floor.
"Rowan, Aedion, Lorcan, Lysandra and Fenrys agreed to do this for only bragging rights!"
I seriously doubted that Lorcan would volunteer to do something, like baking, for bragging rights.
"If you must know Dorian he losers have to bow and address the winner as 'your Excellency'. And it can't just be a minimal bow. Your head has to almost be touching the floor."
Now I was truly surprised.
"You all agreed to those terms!"
Aelin nodded her head enthusiastically.
"Yes now can you animate our competition Dorian? We would like to get started."
This time it was me who nodded enthusiastically. I didn't want to waste a minute of time, I really wanted to see how this turned out.
"Ok chefs get to your tables. You will have one hour to complete this challenge. You can only bake a dessert or a breakfast item, like pancakes. May the best baker with. Your time starts now!"
They all started moving, gathering the ingredients they needed. I couldn't wait to see who won. The stakes were high on this one.
                           ~~~
                 (*Time skip*)
I didn't know what anyone was cooking. She yelled at me when I got close to her table to try and see what she was making. Her reasoning was that if I knew what she made, I wouldn't eat it. She was totally right. Aelin didn't have the best track record when it came to baking. I didn't even know why she agreed to this competition.
"Alright bakers! Your time is up! Bring your plates up so that I can try them."
Aelin had me blindfolded by Manon at the halfway point of the competition. When all of the plates were on the table infront of me Manon removed the blindfold, while whispering in my ear that we would use it later. There was a little label infront of every dessert.
Chocolate cake, cream puffs, key lime pie, red velvet cupcakes and chocolate cookies.
I tried the cream puffs first they were excellent, but there wasn't enough filling. I tried the red velvet cupcakes next. They were good but they were quite dry. The cookies were next. There want enough chocolate chips. But they were tender. The key lime pie was amazing. It tasted so good and there was just the right amount of crust on the pie. Finally there was the chocolate cake. I looked op at all the participants. I knew that Aelin made this cake. Who else would? I cut myself a piece, put it into my plate, took a piece on my fork and very slowly raised the cake to my lips. It was the best chocolate cake I ever had! It was rich and there was just enough frosting. I've eaten a lot of cakes, but this was by far the best.
I looked up at every one.
"Alright I have made my decision. The key lime pie and the chocolate cake are the best. Everyone else, what dessert did you bake?"
Aedion, Rowan and Lysandra flipped the name card infront of the desserts over so that I could see who baked what. Rowan made cupcakes, Lysandra made cookies, Aedion made cream puffs. Tjey were very disappointed. I would be too, they have to address the winner by a stupid title and bow. That left Lorcan and Aelin. I was very surprised. I thought neither could bake.
"The winner is the person who has made the chocolate cake."
They both stepped forwards. They flipped the two remaining name tags. Aelin made the key lime pie. So that meant Lorcan made the chocolate cake. Aelin was raging.
"How could he have made something better than me? I had someone teach me how to make this stupid pie! Let me try that damn cake!"
She grabbed my plate and my fork. And ate a piece of cake. She kept her face blank.
"Lorcan, I will not kick you out of my kingdom on one condition."
He looked up at her and smirked. That smug bastard. But he did have a right to be smug. Every one had to bow to him for the next twenty-four hours.
"You have to make me a chocolate cake every time I ask for one. Because this cake is fucking amazing."
"We have a deal Aelin. But since I won. Bow."
Every one in the room bowed to him. Bit me though because I was not part of this bet, thank Mala.
"Your Excellency." They all repeated at the same time. I bet it was going to be a long twenty-four hours for them. But by the looks every one was giving Lorcan, as soon as this punishment was over, they would beat the shit out of him.
