Nineteen

-Jasper's Point of View-

It's been a few weeks since Alice has left, I've had my moments but today is the first game of the season so the entire family is going to the game to watch and cheer on our own little cheerleader.

I've also been spending as much time with Emmaline as possible, I like that with her I can just talk everything out, well almost everything.

She doesn't know we're vampires and she definitely doesn't know that the girl I always talk about is in fact Alice, my ex wife.

But our friendship has strengthened.

I find that I can text her when I have something on my mind and I no longer feel awkward when we're alone.

But I found that it wasn't enough anymore.

While I am glad that our friendship has grown in many ways, it turns out so have my feelings toward her. Edward is the only one who truly knows how I feel about Emmaline, and how I can't shake the thoughts of her that constantly fill my head now.

"I think I'm going to do it." I said as I walked back to the house with Edward and Emmett, we had gone out to get a drink in, we never like to take liberties with the humans.

"What?" Emmett asked, "what are you doing?"

Edward smiled at me and even patted my back, he already knew what I planned on doing.

"I'm gonna ask Emmaline out on a date."

Emmett clapped my back roughly in his excitement "bout time brother." He said.

"Yeah, I figured what's the harm right, Emmaline's a sweet girl and if things don't work out we can always just be friends." I decided cooly, the guys nodded, "I'll do it after the game tonight."

As soon as the words left my mouth my phone vibrated with a text message and Edward's cellphone rang with a phone call.

{Emmaline: Hope to see you tonight at the game ;).}

I smiled and text back immediately.

{Jasper: I'll be there cheering you ladies on.}

{Emmaline: cheering for cheerleaders...sounds like cheer-ception lol gotta go, see you there.}

I chuckled as she had cleverly tied in the movie She had brought over to watch last night. I put my phone back in my pocket as Edward hung up.

"Jasper you can't go to the game tonight." He said.

I shook my head, "I'm guessing that was Alice."

He nodded, "look she asked me to ask you not to go, why don't you just wait for another day to ask Emmaline out, or you could do it right now?"

I gave him a questioning look, "sorry but I've just told Emmaline i'd see her at the game." I said walking away from them, it's just like them to try and talk me out of something after they've been pushing me to do this for so long.

I couldn't help but wonder, I had begun to think Emmaline could possibly be the very girl from Alice's visions, but now I can't help but think I'm wrong if Alice is calling in protest.

I cheered along with the crowd for all of the plays, Emmaline's buddy Leander is quite good. But my attention was drawn to the sidelines.

I smiled at Ness, she looked very pretty in her cheerleader uniform, but when I saw Emmaline I reacted in a very different manner, as a guy I can't help but notice the way her uniform hugs her curves, how lovely her bare legs look, or how the skirt barely covers anything. Edward chuckled and I shot him a death glare, no one should ever have the ability of hearing anyone else's dirty thoughts.

The game was coming to a close and our school had a good lead on the other team.

Leander let go of the ball just before the time ran out, it soared in the sky as the buzzer rang loudly and his running back caught it. Everyone jumped up excitedly and a roar of cheers surrounded us.

The people started pouring out of the stands and onto the field myself and my family included.

"I'm gonna go find Emmaline." I said.

"Don't you think you should congratulate your niece on her first cheer session first?" Rosalie asked with a hint of suggestion.

"You're right."

We found Renesme and congratulated her, I hugged her and told her how genuinely proud I was of her then one of my other family members grabbed her and I went through the crowd in search of Emmaline.

It seems I wasn't the only one as I had almost reached her only to watch Leander run at her, he embraced her and then planted a big kiss on her lips.

I immediately stopped approaching her, I stared angrily before I turned away and stomped off the field. When I got well out of sight I ran home and just sat in the forest for a while, I should have known that a girl like Emmaline would have a string of suitors to choose from, why would she possibly choose me?

Lucky for me I had seen that before I asked her out, things would've been awkward for sure. Now she will never know what almost happened, I will not put myself out there like that, if any girl wants to date me she will just have to approach me.

After that I didn't text her all weekend, and back in school I only spoke to her if she spoke to me first.

I had to put some distance between us so that I could look at her as just a friend once more.

-Alice's Point of View-

I was in a dressing room trying on some new outfits, Carmen was patiently waiting for me to come out and model the latest finds.

But as I reached back to grab the zipper I had a vision.

-Jasper approached Emmaline to ask her on a date, but before he got to her the other boy, Leander the football player barreled forward and took Emmaline in his arms, as friends she was fine with that. Then Leander kissed her. Jasper saw this and angrily left immediately. Emmaline pushed Leander off of her in pure disgust and anger, the two had dated once before, something happened that caused them to break up but Emmaline chose to stay friends for the sake of the friendship.-
...

"Alice come on and show me already, the store will be closing soon."

I snapped out of my daze and took the dress off and put my own clothes back on, "I'll take all of them, I have a phone call to make."

Carmen gave me an understanding look and I rushed out of the building to call Edward.

"What's wrong?" Edward answered.

"Jasper can't go to the game tonight." I rushed out immediately.

"But he has to, he's going to finally ask Emmaline out."

I sighed of course he would finally pluck up the courage, "well I don't know what your going to tell him but trust me when I say he can NOT go tonight, everything will be set back even further if he does."

In truth Emmaline and Jasper should have been officially dating by now. I do hate when my visions aren't followed to the T, don't people know I'm never wrong about these things?

"I'll try but he seemed pretty adamant just a moment ago." Edward replied.

"Do what you have to do, Jasper will get hurt if he goes tonight."

"By her, she's not into him? But I've heard the thoughts she has about him." He wondered out loud.

"Edward focus." I sounded, pulling him from his slight rambles. "Just trust me, and keep this to yourself."

I didn't want Jasper to think I was purposely interfering with him and Emmaline, quite the opposite I want them together already.

I went back in and paid for my items, it won't be long before I get to meet my own true love.
