Chapter 40 [FINALE P.2]

"Nino, it's Alya... We need your help." Rena Rouge called her boyfriend for assistance.

"What's up, Alya?" 

"Can you meet me, Ladybug, and Cat Noir at the park?" 

"Sure thing. Is it hero stuff?" Nino asked.

"Yes, and it's very important. Thanks, Babe." Rena Rouge said before hanging up.

"You're sure this'll work?" Cat Noir asked.

Ladybug shifted her feet.

"I hope." She murmured.

"Hawkmoth!" Cat Noir called.

Hawkmoth was trying to catch butterflies in the streets and whipped around to see Cat Noir.

"I've been looking for you. I think it is time we end this, SON." Hawkmoth stood up straight and braced himself.

Cat Noir twitched his ear as a signal and ran off.

The sound of a flute bounced off the buildings throughout the city.

Hawkmoth then sprang after Cat Noir but was sidetracked as a butterfly flew past him.

"Finally!" He gasped, grabbing the butterfly.

He used his power to akumatize it and opened his hands to see it was gone.

"WHAT?!" He gasped, searching wildly for the akuma.

Meanwhile, Rena Rouge smirked to Ladybug, who held her lucky charm, which was a blindfold.

"Now we wait." Cat Noir whispered.

Hawkmoth had one minute left and gave up on his search, he sprinted for a hiding place in an alley and detransformed.

Ladybug looked to Cat Noir who stared blankly ahead.

"It's gonna be okay..." Ladybug murmured.

Cat Noir nodded and smiled weakly.

"Lets go. Nino, do you understand the plan?" Ladybug asked.

"Yeah, Dude. But, what if he comes after me?" Nino asked.

"We'll protect you." Cat Noir assured his friend.

Nino nodded and Ladybug leapt down after Mr. Agreste.

His eyes widened and he attempted to run past Ladybug, but was blindfolded and held against a building.

"Now, Cat Noir!" Ladybug screamed.

Cat Noir ran at him and grabbed the butterfly pin.

"NINO!" Cat Noir called.

Nino took the pin and put it on.

"Nooroo, transform me!"

-transformation-

"NO!" Gabriel cried.

"The Butterfly Miraculous shall now be used for good!" Ladybug declared.

She took the blindfold off Gabriel who then grabbed a knife from his pocket.

He took it and narrowed his eyes. He swung forward, impaling Ladybug.

"NO!" Cat Noir screeched.

Gabriel pulled out his phone and videotaped as Ladybug detransformed.

"FOR STEALING MY MIRACULOUS, NOW THE WORLD KNOWS THAT LADYBUG IS INDEED MARINETTE DUPAN-CHENG! AND CAT NOIR? ADRIEN AGRESTE!" Gabriel screamed.

"You have NO proof of me being Adrien!" Cat Noir spat, tears flooding his cheeks. Rena Rouge held Marinette and nino called an ambulance.

"Well we can change that!" Gabriel exclaimed, spit bubbling at his lips. He grabbed the bloody knife and swung at Cat Noir, who dodged back. 

"CATACLYSM!" Cat Noir screamed.

"NO, CAT NOIR!" Rena Rouge gasped.

Cat Noir shook it off and slapped Gabriel, who fell to ashes on the ground.

"You are not my father, and you will never be my father." Cat Noir said softly, his throat tight with emotions.

He stomped on the phone, cracking it.

"Cat Noir, what have you done?!" Rena Rouge wailed, breaking Cat Noir from his thoughts.

"I-I..." Cat Noir murmured.

Rena Rouge stood up and hugged him.

"...It's gonna be okay..." She mimicked what Ladybug told him.

Cat Noir then flinched and ran to Marinette.

"MARINETTE! CAN YOU HEAR ME?" He cried.

"The ambulance is on their way." Nino explained.

"Nino, go to the nearest shop and get water. Rena, you can go... You're about to detransform." 

Nino nodded and ran off, but Rena Rouge lingered.

"But I need to stay with Marinette!" Rena Rouge whimpered.

"It's too dangerous, they now know Marinette is Ladybug, we can risk your identity." Cat Noir warned.

"But what about-"

"They know Cat Noir is dating Ladybug... And they know Marinette is dating Adrien... It'll be too obvious." Cat Noir explained.

Rena Rouge nodded.

"Update me." She said before flying off.

Cat Noir sighed and collapsed beside Marinette.

"I'm so sorry..." He whispered.
