The Real Deal

Chapter 1: The Demolition

Hey. James Dyllan here. Today is just an ordinary day. After surviving another day of classes, I noticed that my best friend, Kacey, is nowhere to be found. Usually after the bell rings, she will go with me while I help her with her things. But, not today.

While I'm feeling uncomfortable with my jeans and converse, I went around the cafeteria to search for her.

I touched my pocket as my phone vibrates,

seeing a text message,

From: Kacey

James, come here in the abandoned room. Please. I need you.

Many unanswered things came into my mind as I walk to the abandoned room. What is going on? I know that something is wrong.

Suddenly after I opened the door, I saw her. She is sitting on the floor. Her things are a mess. She is crying. I quickly went at her,

"What happened? Why are you crying?" I asked as I pat her back,

"Ashton. He cheated on me."

My mouth formed an "o" as I heard what she said. I wiped her face with my handkerchief as I asked, "Why? What happened?"

"He told me that one day, he just woke up realizing he don't love me anymore. He felt that our love team is not being that popular like we used to be,"

"I felt like he used me." tears came rushing down on her pale face.

"What? That's not fair! Do you want me to confront him?" I suggested just to comfort her.

"No. Let karma take revenge on him. I'm done with him. I am totally done." she said as she stood up, wiping her tears away.

"Let Karma take revenge on him." said Kacey.

I hugged her as she weep. The first time you see her, Kacey is a weak girl waiting for attentions. However, knowing her for about 12 years, I know that she is a strong and brave girl.

What will you do if someone cheated on your bestfriend? Will you tear his body apart? Will you take him to hell?

I have another option.

"Come on, cheer up. Let's eat." I told her.

She smiled, letting me know she's already okay. But behind that smile, is a broken heart scattered into pieces. I told you, I know her well.

We were heading to the cafeteria when we walk passed by Ashton. I didn't told Kacey about it. But when Ashton laughed really loud, Kacey saw him. I don't know if he meant to laugh like that or something but that laugh really made Kacey remember their break up. She started crying again.

"That handsome laugh!" Kacey murmured while she cries,

"He cheated on you." I whispered to her while I fix the table with lemonade juice boxes.

"You know, I was demolished because he cheated on me.. But do you think he is happy about it?" she asked me as I take a big bite on my cheeseburger.

"Of course he is! Cheaters love breaking people's hearts. Hey! Why are you using the word,"cheated"? Did you see him with another girl when you are still in a relationship? The right term for your situation is "played'. You were being played the whole time not cheated." I explained to her while she seems to continue glancing on Ashton.

"Oh. Okay. Played." she continued while wiping her tears away.

"Don't worry. Sometimes, love isn't the way you like it. Im sure that even if Ashton played on you, it will really take him a long time to move-on. " I said to her while her sundae starts to melt because she is not even touching it,

"You might be a Math flunker but you are really smart when it comes to real life problems, James." she teased as she smiles.
