~==~ 7:45pm ~==~

Vallen cruised around a random neighborhood, slowing down as he felt the seal get weaker again. He sighed, frustrated, and reversed the car, taking a turn that he had originally driven passed.

Vallen drove around aimlessly, just relying on the seal to guide him, when it started to fluctuate. Confused, beginning to feel a pain in his chest now, he stopped the car abruptly, narrowly avoiding slamming his head into the steering wheel.

He leaned his head against the steering wheel, pulling his phone out and dialing KR's number. After what seemed like forever, she picked up. "Are you sure you don't know where the fuck she went?"

KR yelled through the phone. "I already told you that! Several times even!"

He sighed. "I don't have time for this shit, if you know where she might have driven, even direction-wise, it'd be more helpful then you've been all night."

"I don't fucking know Vallen! This is why I told you to leave earlier!" She was quiet for a minute. "All I know is that they live somewhere within walking distance of the school."

Vallen sat up, rubbing his chest with his free hand. He remembered passing a large building a few neighborhoods back. "I think I can find her now." He hung up as she started yelling again.

After circling the school campus itself for a few minutes, he took a random road. It was really secluded, but this was the only side of the campus where the feeling was slightly strong. Given that this was probably his only choice, since there were no other roads around on that end, he just took it.

The pain in his chest grew stronger, but he did what he could to breathe through it. "Fucking hell Kyrie." He knew well that she didn't want anything to do with him, but that didn't change the fact that he still felt something for her. He had grown up by her side, she was the only person he enjoyed being around.

A faint light started to emit from his chest, causing him to check his phone. "8:20?" He was confused, assuming he still had until around 10:00pm to find her. "There's no way the contract is breaking." He gunned it, quickly approaching houses. He knew what vehicle to look for, but it was difficult to look for something with a black paint job in the dark.

Vallen slammed the breaks as a bright light filled the inside of his car. An immense pain shot through his body, leaving him gasping for air. The light disappeared as quickly as it came.

He took a second to reorient himself, realizing something felt off, but couldn't quite place the feeling. Then it hit him, he couldn't sense Kyrie anymore. A different pain started in his chest as he held his hand over his heart. The feeling was a mix of betrayal and abandonment, the contract ended earlier then it was supposed to. She genuinely threw his own contract away for some random guy, someone that he assumed she'd barely known. It hurt him greatly.

Vallen sat in his car, lost and unaware of how to even get back to the house. He had buried his face in his hands, trying his hardest to keep the tears back.
