31. Future

Sven stepped into the bathroom and looked around. "It's a lot bigger then I expected it to be."

Pierce slid the glass door leading into the shower open. "Yeah, I fell in love with this apartment specifically because of the bathroom. I knew that, one day, I'd need the space to stretch out." He stretched his wings out to show what he meant, then stepped into the shower half of the bathroom. "I honestly got sick of the bathroom's size for a while because it was too big and I still hadn't changed."

  A/N: the bathroom is Japanese style, I just can't state that since my world is made up and Japan doesn't exist within it.  

Sven stepped in, shutting the door behind them. "You should see the bathroom at my place then. Oh, I don't mean the one on my side of the house either, Mariah has the big one on her side."

Pierce stood under the shower head and let the warmth of the water engulf him. "Why? How much bigger is it?"

Sven thought for a moment, stepping into the small bath beside Pierce. "Umm, I'm trying to compare it to one of the bedrooms but I don't think it's that small."

Pierce, shocked, looked to Sven. "That small...how big is this damn bathroom if those rooms are considered small to it?"

"It opens up onto a balcony too. There's an outdoors half to the bathroom, which is where its size comes from in all reality."

"Wait, so you pretty much have a pool for a bathtub?"

Sven lowered himself into the water and sighed as the tension left his legs. "I guess that would be one way of putting it."

Pierce tried to mentally picture the rest of Sven's house. He had only seen the living room, kitchen, then the hall with Sven's room, the guest room, the smaller bathroom and one other door. The fact that he knew the condo was HUGE still wasn't enough to place an estimate on the size of this other bathroom.

Sven gazed at Pierce and smiled. "Wanna see it next time you're over?"

Pierce snapped back to reality, excitement in his eyes. "Can I?" His love for luxury made this new information all the better, especially since he could see it in person.

"Of course, I'm honestly shocked I didn't end up showing it to you last time you came over."

Pierce laughed weakly. "Heh, yeah, well given the context of last time I don't think it was really priority to show it to me."

Sven thought, then realized last time was when he found out Pierce's species. "Oh shit, has it really been that long since I've had you over?"

"Yeah, your car has been our meeting spot and, uh, screwing spot for a while now."

"Damn, okay, my place next time then." He poked Pierce's thigh.

Pierce took that as an invitation and joined Sven in the tub, causing the water to overflow onto the floor. "This is nice."

Sven leaned back and nodded in agreement. "I like simple things like this. Honestly if we had met in any other manner and not been what we are, I doubt we'd ever have taken the time to get to know each other like this."

"What do you mean?"

Sven leaned his head back and sighed. "Just think about it, the only reason we ended up together was because the school screwed up and put someone in class with me that shouldn't have been. If we never met and I wasn't exposed to you 5 days a week then I would have never needed to make that connection with you, we likely would have never met. Even if we did meet, if we'd been different species then I still doubt we'd make it to this point in our relationship."
