KR had spent most of the day texting Rose and Kyrie, who both knew about Vallen coming over. KR understood that Kyrie would rather not come home while he's over, so she'd be over at Anthony's, but Rose would be staying late for her training, so it would just be the two of them. KR was nervous about being alone with Vallen, not that she expected anything crazy to happen between them. They were just friends after all.

KR got a text from Vallen that he was only about 10 minutes away now, which caused her heart to beat a mile a minute. She ended up spending that time looking in the mirror to make sure she looked okay. Normally she would wear her hair in pigtails, but today she had let it down. With the help of Kyrie's straightener, she did her hair, light makeup, and picked out a cute outfit. Today she was sporting a pastel green, short sleeved dress with her white flats.

A loud knock came from the front door and KR practically flew down the stairs to answer it. She stumbled and struggled to open the door, which cause Vallen to meet her with a confused look on his face.

"You alright?" Vallen leaned down to meet her face.

She laughed nervously. "Yeah, I just tripped a little is all."

"No pigtails?" He pushed the door open and stepped inside.

KR felt her head. "No, I wanted to try something different. Does this not look good?"

Vallen popped his shoes off. "It's cute, just different."

KR hated only one thing about Vallen and that was his tone of voice. He always talked in a manner that made it hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or serious. "Oh, okay, that's good." She shut the door and locked the deadbolt. "I can show you to the guest room real quick."

"Yeah, I want to set this stuff down." He followed as KR lead him up the stairs and into a vacant room.

"This was supposed to become an office as some point, but a guest room just made the most sense right now." She stepped in and opened the windows. "I'm sorry if it's a little dusty, I cleaned it as much as I could."

Vallen set his bags down on the bed and looked around. "Looks good to me." His gaze lingered on KR, but that was kept short and he pulled his phone out. "Did you find a place you want to eat at? We can leave here closer to 5:00."
KR walked over to Vallen and stood by his side. He had a map pulled up on his phone, so KR took it from him and entered the address for the restaurant she wanted to go to.

"Casual dress?" He clicked the location and opened its website. "Ah, it's by reservation." He clicked through a few options, dialed the number, then placed his name for a reservation at 6:00 that night.

She rubbed her arm as if she felt guilty for picking a place that would likely be super expensive.

Vallen tossed his phone onto the bed. "What?"

"It's not going to be an issue that I picked that one, right?"

He ruffled her hair. "I told you to pick a place, there were no limits. My treat." He dug through his bag and pulled out a few nice shirts to pair with his black dress pants. He glanced at KR, held a few shirts up to her dress, then settled with a darker green one. "We should match since this is a fancier place."

KR hated trying to read the situation. There's no telling how he felt about anyone, the only time his feelings were evident was when Kyrie was involved. For about a month she's all he would talk about, even now, despite claiming that he's over her, he would still bring her up from time to time. This soured her mood a little, but she kept it all in.
