45. Special Announcement

KR had headed home a few days earlier so she could visit with Vallen during their winter vacation. Kyrie decided that now would be the best time to introduce Anthony to her parents, as well as announce her pregnancy. They knew about Anthony, but had never met him since she signed a contract with him.

Kyrie loaded her bags into Alexander's truck, which they would be borrowing for the duration of their trip. Alexander would be staying home with Kage and Kaiden, so he lent the truck to Anthony. It was a big thing for the two of them afterall, Alexander wanted to help us as much as he could.

Anthony hugged Alexander goodbye, then him and Kyrie began their 3 day trip to the Ai Clan.

It had been several years since Kyrie went back home, so the familiar scenery on the way to the nearest world rift brought back memories of when she moved to the Akuma Clan. It was a breath of fresh air when she landed here and was handed over to Derek. Things had looked up, but she was now making an announcement that would mean nothing once the truth came out.

[Kyrie.]

Kyrie opened her eyes and yawned, then took in the dark scenery. She could tell the Ai Clan was close, but it would still be at least 6 more hours before they made it to her parent's house.

[Kyrie.]

She stared out her window, but listened to Mhi.

[I have something to tell you when you are alone.]

She just nodded, then fell back asleep for the remainder of their trip. She almost forgot about Mhi being attached to her wherever she went, he had been so quiet until then.

Kyrie stepped down from the truck with Anthony's assistance. She hadn't told her parents that she planned to visit as this was to be a surprise visit, so even KR was unaware, but Kyrie could tell that KR wouldn't be there right now since Vallen's car was nowhere in sight.

She stretched. "Just leave the bags for now, let's go see my parents first."

Anthony was nervous to meet her parents. He was especially worried since their first meeting would also be Kyrie's pregnancy announcement.

Kyrie walked up the front steps to the door, taking in the familiar sight. It had been so long since she was last here, it almost didn't seem real.

After some reminiscing, she knocked on the door and waited. Anthony was by her side while she waited for a response.

A few minutes later, after knocking again, someone finally came to the door. It was a shorter woman, she stood only slightly taller then Kyrie. She was of a heavier build, her hair was a reddish brown, medium length, and curly.

The woman's eyes widened and she begins to tear up. "Kyrie?" She threw her arms around Kyrie.

Kyrie smiled and hugged the woman back. "Hi mom."

She hadn't even noticed Anthony yet. "Sweetie! What brings you all the way here with no warning?"

Kyrie pulled back from her mother's embrace. "I wanted to introduce you and dad to someone." She turned her attention to Anthony.
