Kyrie laid down that night and tried to sleep. She hadn't heard the voice in her head since Monday after meeting Lucky 13. She had so many questions now that she had gotten some rest and her mind was clearing.

He seemed to follow her around for a while, but after meeting face to face he just disappeared. Even the feeling of being watched disappeared when he did.

~~/(^-^)\~~

Kyrie had just started to drift off when that familiar feeling returned to her room.

[Kyrie.]

She sighed and sat up. "I have questions for you."

The room remained silent, but there was definitely something there.

"Don't play coy with me, I know you're there. My patience levels are running thin. So either show your stupid face or screw off so I can sleep." She tried to stay quiet since Rose and KR didn't know about this.

Immediately in front of her Lucky 13 manifested himself. He was a few inches from her face once he came into full view. "I am shocked that you called out to me this time."

She rolled her eyes and reached to turn on her bedside lamp. "I hope you came prepared to answer a shit ton of questions tonight."

He sat down on the end of her bed and waited. "Go on."

"Elaborate on why the hell your soul is inside me."

"I already told you why."

"Then tell me again."

"You were born with a very corrupt soul, only a single percent of your actual soul managed to stay untouched. I removed the corrupt part, which is considered missing, then replaced it with my own."

"Okay, but why the hell did you choose me of all people with missing souls?"

He produced the small orb that contained the corrupt part of her soul. "I am drawn to dark energies, this was the strongest I had ever sensed from an infant. I wanted it, so I followed it to you. It just so happened that your parents were desperate to find someone to fill your missing soul, little did they know the true severity of the situation." He dismissed the orb. "I decided that I would make a deal with them. As a true Demi it does not matter how much of my soul is given away, I will never die and it will never hurt me."

"Why exactly am I supposed to abide by your desires after I die?"

"My soul fragments will return to me after the death of those who have them. You are the only living being with fragments of my soul. I am the only living true Demi to date, so it is only natural that you return to me. A partial Demi, such as yourself, will die one day and become a wandering spirit until you manifest a physical body again." He smiled devilishly. "You could easily become anyone you wish to be."

"What do you mean?"

A black mist surrounded his body and, once it cleared, he took form of Anthony. The only difference was his eyes and voice. "You can become anything you want once you return from the spirit world. Well," He resumed his normal form. "Not that I ever intend on allowing you to leave once you come over to the spirit realm."

She pulled her legs to her body and hugged her knees to her chest. "Why not?"

He was silent, his cold, empty eyes trained on her face.

"I asked you a question."

"Did you have intercourse with that boy recently?"

Her face turned a bright red at that sudden question. "W-what the hell does that matter?"

He reached out and placed his hand on her stomach. "I do not foresee you living through all 9 months."

She looked from his face to his hand on her stomach. "What do you mean?"

"Did you ever wonder why you suddenly fell ill?"

"That wasn't because of you?"

He laughed and pulled back. "My presence alone had nothing to do with your illness, I have always been by your side. You were not careful and suffered morning sickness for a week because of it. I only used your lowered guard to communicate."

She held her stomach. "Wait...you said I won't live all 9 months? Are you implying that I'm going to die before then?"

He nodded. "I am glad that you catch on so quickly."

"Why won't I live?"

He pondered on that question. "I cannot pinpoint an exact reason, but I know that you have a short life. Simply having so much of my soul already shortened your life significantly."

She was quiet.

He just looked at her.

"Why the hell didn't my parents tell me this sooner...you've just given me less then 8 months left to live but don't even know why I die?" She was in shock.

"It is the sad fate of someone with so much of their soul missing. As you said yourself, you never should have been conceived with such a small amount of your genuine soul intact." He watched her for a moment, she was still looking down at her stomach. "I am quite shocked that you lived this long, despite the transfer of my soul to you."

She met his cold stare. "Why is it so shocking? If I have a complete soul then shouldn't I live the length of a normal life?"

He was quiet.

"Answer my question you prick."

He laughed. "You contain the soul of someone who passes between the realm of living and dead. A mortal body that contains a majority immortal soul. You will, one day, be consumed by my soul and become a Demi, but you must die in order for that to happen."

"Can't I just return to the living realm of my own free will then? If I end up like you then who are you to decide what the hell I do?"

He smiled wide. "Would you truly like to know?"

She withdrew, but she wanted answers. "Y-yes."

"You belong to me by the laws of our world. The day I replaced your corrupt soul with my own was the day you became my property." He paused and searched her face. "Your parents signed a contract that day that gave me every right to your soul after you pass."

"What if I request my soul back so I don't have to be tied to you?"

"You will die the second your soul rejoins what single percent you kept."

Kyrie could feel her chest tighten. "Can't you let me live until I get to full term?"

"I do not decide when you die, I just know your time is short."

"You must be able to do something." She looked to him with pleading eyes.

He was shocked by the twinge he felt in his chest. "I cannot alter what this world decides. As I said, I know your time is short but I do not know why you die. I have a time frame, but not an exact reason or day."

She sighed. "Don't say anything to anyone else...I don't want them to know."

"You will carry this to your grave then?"

She took a deep breath. "I will carry this until I find a way to escape you."

An amused grin came over his mouth. "You will never escape me child, we are destined to meet in the afterlife." He stood, the black mist consuming his body. "I will return, enjoy what time you have left."

She reached out to the place he stood. There were still so many things she wanted to ask, especially what drew him to her. The explanation made sense, but of all darkness in the world, how was something she emitted the strongest? She wanted to know why he chose her, why didn't he just allow her life to end then, why did she have to find this out on the same day she discovered her pregnancy...there was so much uncertainty in her life since finding out about her soul being so small.
