"Daniel, seriously! You have to hurry, it's starting to rain, and the store is closing soon!" I called down the hallway to him.

"Coming, (Y/N)!" he yelled back. I heard him stumble as he trotted down the stairs to me.

    "Ready?"

"Yes indeed," Dan's wide grin spread across his face. I grinned back and pushed our front door open. It was dim and cloudy and smelt like rain already. I could practically see Dan's hair start to poof up from the humidity. We jogged out to my pickup truck, and I swung into the driver's seat. Dan slid his way into the passenger seat and cranked the radio as I began to drive.
We pulled into the parking lot just as it began to pour down rain. I grumbled as I shut off the truck.

"It's fine, we can run," Dan said; always so cheerful. I chuckled and nodded.

"3, 2, 1, go!" We dart into the rain and towards the front doors of the store. As we reach them, I see the sign. CLOSED. I groan as we take shelter beneath the awning of the store.

"Now what?" I sigh as I look up at Dan. Our bodies are soaked, and it's still pouring.

"We make the most of it," he says plainly as if it was the most obvious answer in the world.

"What does that mean?" I laugh. He steps back out into the rain, lifting his arms over his head.

He starts singing loudly. "I bless the rains down in Africa!"

I let out a loud laugh, watching him.

"I love you," I say and wander out beside him on the pavement. He beams down at me, his long, wet curls covering most of his face. I grin back as he grabs my waist, continuing to sing 'Africa' by Toto.

"It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you," He nearly whispers. He kisses me slowly, and I place my hands on his chest. He always helps me make the best of everything.
