It's one of my last days in France. I'm out souvenir shopping, enjoying the weather and the people when I come across one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen.

His name tag reads 'Daniel' in perfect cursive. I fawn over him from afar as I slowly shop around. My French isn't super solid yet, I can understand simple words and people when they talk slowly. I slowly approach the counter to let "Daniel" check me out. He smiles broadly at me as he begins to ring up my purchases. I'm not even sure what I ended up picking out but does it even matter?

He tries to make conversation in French and I shake my head.

"I don't speak great French," I say shyly. He raises an eyebrow and apologizes in French. I huff a little and decide to try to ask for his number despite the slight language barrier.

"Do you think I could have your number?" I try. He shrugs at me and shakes his head. He doesn't understand it seems. I whip my phone out and try Google translate.

"Je peux avoir ton numero?" I say slowly, trying my best to remember my French from high school. He beams and nods quickly. He pulls my receipt out from the cash register and scribbles his number down on the end of it. I grin at him and turn to leave.

"I understood you the first time. I just liked seeing you flustered," He smirks at me and winks. I blush bright red and chuckle.

"Clever boy," I mutter before scurrying out of the shop.
