The next morning, all four girls including Melissa joined them as they headed towards their first class. Mandy led the twins, showing them around quickly as they found their class.
Gracie groaned in exhaustion. Mandy sighed." We need to get you something for your condition." She told her as they entered the class. A lady in her mid-30s, who the twins assumed was the teacher, stood up and walked to them with a smile." You must be Gracie and Cassie." She pointed to Cassie first and then at Gracie, mixing their names up.
"I'm Cassie," Cassie told her and then pointed to Gracie who yawned again," and she's Gracie." The lady smiled apologetically." Good morning to you girls and I'm really sorry about that." Gracie waved her off while Cassie huffed." You can take your seats." Gracie found a seat at the back while Cassie found one in the front. Mandy moved to the one beside Gracie as others filled in.
The teacher introduced them to the class, asking if they wanted to stand up. Cassie stood up, causing the guys in the room to sit up straighter." I'm Cassie. I am interning as a fashion designer. I love make up, designing clothes, and making friends." She looked at Gracie." And I have a twin sister." Everyone had their eyes turned to Gracie who looked up from picking at her nails.
Her cheeks turned pink at the attention, so she waved awkwardly and the class let out chuckles." And I'm human." The class looked at her in surprise." That's all." She sat down and guys started handing her pieces of paper.
"Is there anything you would like to add?" The teacher asked Gracie. She shook her head and class carried on.
Cassie turned to her right where a guy sat looking out of the window. His hair was long and dark, reaching just past his shoulder blades. His gaze then drifted to Gracie who sat oblivious to his burning gaze.
Cassie scoffed. Leave it to that dense b**** who couldn't even tell if a guy like her or not. Why did she have to attract gorgeous males? She wasn't even pretty herself. She was just someone Matilda picked up on the way, she thought.
...
Carly sat down in her seat as Gracie sat down next to her." I'm glad Cassie isn't in this class." She muttered under her breath but she caught it.
"Why is that?" She asked.
"She makes everything so uncomfortable and suffocating. It's like she's trying to kill me with her eyes alone." She shuddered as the memory of her glaring her way in the previous lesson.
"You two don't seem to get along. Why not?" She asked curiously. It was strange seeing them not act like what she, Mandy, James and their oldest sister do. Like siblings.
"Bad history." She rubbed her neck unconsciously, rubbing her fingers over the vampire bite she received two years ago." So what are you doing as a career?" She asked her. Carly smiled happily." Im a doctor. For humans, I'm a pediatrician. But for us, I'm a healer of sorts." Gracie was surprised. Carly didn't look like she'd be into such things.
"And what about you?" She asked her.
"I'm more of the artsy type. But I'm doing accounting." She said.
The teacher for this lesson walked in with two guys. She looked at Carly and Gracie with a steel gaze, hardening when it landed on the green eyed brunette." Carly move to the front and sit beside Michael. Then the two of you will be partners." She told Gracie and the guy beside her.
Carly grumbled," Why of all people him?" She muttered under her breath. She glared at the guy who started moving towards Gracie's desk." I will kill you slowly if you do anything." She growled lowly. He narrowed his eyes at her hostility." Obviously you can't because last time I checked, this is a school. Not some slaughter house." He spat back.
