⊙ SONG: MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT - ELLEY DUHÉ ⊙
"Grab her!"
Gracie's wolf snarled at the warriors before dashing off, sprinting off to the woods.
"Get the tranquilizers! She's escaping!" Mitch growled and chased after her. She's fast, Mitch commented and his wolf grumbled, female is strong. Female knows they put her down. Mitch pushed to catch up to her and nearly lost her if it weren't for her familiar scent.
Water and lillies.
A loud roar sounded from behind him, and two large wolves came hurtling towards him. He recognized James' red fur as he came to a stop beside him. His wolf bristled and shook out its fur.
'Where is she?' He asked him.
Mitch's wolf bowed it's head a bit, ' she took off in that direction. I was about to catch up to her before you stopped me.' He told him.
James huffed and signalled the wolf behind fjim to move in the direction Mitch told him. Then he turned to him, ' come with me. We need to inform Cole in case something happens and she crosses the border.' Mitch's eyes widened.' You have rogues here as well?' James nodded, ' and if we don't find her, maybe he'll be able to before they can even catch her scent.'
Mitch nodded and both brothers took off running back to the manor.
...
"She's what?!" Zira screamed as James and a few warriors including Cole grabbed weaponry.
"Look, Zira, I don't have time for this. You can scold me when we get back, but right now, I might have a little sister across a border infested with rogues. So if you could please?" He scowled and strapped on a tranquilizer gun to his back.
"Cole," he turned to the dark haired male." Fly above and see if you can spot her. My tracker lost her by an hour already, and you're our only lead left." Cole's wings shivered and his markings glowed brightly. He nodded and threw open the door, before taking off.
"Come on, let's follow him." He said to the rest of his warriors.
"Yes alpha!"
Paws pounded against the earth, awakening frightened creatures who stood in their path. Growls and snarls echoed through the trees as the wolves followed their alpha through his terrain, occasionally looking up to spot the winged warrior above them.
'Do not open fire once you see her,' James told them through their pack link.' Allow him to connect with her first before startling her. Treat her like a scared pup thats cornered.'
He got many responses, and was glad to see that they didn't question him further on the matter.
A howl rang through the trees, catching their attention. East.
"Grace!"
Cole landed softly and took in his surroundings. He closed his eyes and slowed his heart beat to focus on the other sounds around him. Then he picked up on the erratic heart beat of his lifemate to his right. He turned and a pair of glowing blue eyes watched his movements carefully. Or more specifically the weapon on his side.
Slowly he pulled it off him and threw it a few feet from him. Her ears twitched at the sound, and she slowly came forward from her hiding spot.
Then he noticed it. The blood dripping down her paw. She's injured.
