Matilda smiled as the twins when they returned back down. Cassie's face held excitement as they walked over to her." You're going to love it here." She told them. Gracie nodded while Cassie gushed in happiness about the wardrobe space.
"The rooms are amazing. I can't believe they are so big." She carried on. Talia smiled at her words while the others grinned." Glad you guys love it. We took it upon ourselves to decorate them for your return. And we let the guys do the heavy work." Melissa smirked at James who took to ruffling Mandy's hair.
She swatted his hands away, grumbling about her hair while he laughed.
Carly rolled her eyes at the two before turning her attention back to her sisters." Yeah she's right. Although, there was a bit of a debate." She glared at her younger sister, who placed her hands on her hips." Listen here, Carly. I chose pink when you chose turquoise. It's not my fault you thought they would be 10." She retorted.
"Girls." Talia said with warning. They stopped, and smiled at Matilda." Sorry aunt." Matilda waved them off," I can see all of you are definitely family. They are always getting on the other's nerves and cannot stop with the fights." Gracie rolled her eyes.
"Anyway." They looked at Talia." You've done your duty, Matilda." Matilda nodded and turned to the twins." She's right girls," She sighed tiredly."...I've done my job, and now it's time to let you go for now." Cassie's eyes widened at the reality of her words.
"You're leaving us here?" She asked her.
She nodded and watched as she started tearing up." This is your home now." She pulled her in for a hug." Can't you stay here? With us?" She shook her head.
"Not one for goodbyes?" Gracie turned to her right as James leaned back after whispering to her. She looked back at Cassie and Matilda who tearfully hugged, and shook her head." No. I guess I'm not." She said. He smiled and held his hand out, palm up. She looked at it before placing her hand in his." You're going to love it here. We even have an institute for our kind." He said with a promise.
"Our kind being what exactly?" She asked him - confused for a moment - to which he smiled." Vampires, werewolves etc.. It gets kind of exciting as well as tough to manage but it all works out in the end."
She nodded as Matilda looked at her. She walked over to her and the three smiled at each other." I have something for you." Matilda pulled out two small boxes." Open it after you girls settle in. Okay?" They nodded and took the gifts from her." I love you two." She looked at Talia.
"Look after yourselves. And no fighting." She warned and stepped away." It was really nice seeing you again, Matilda." She told her. Matilda smiled before muttering something under her breath.
"What is she doing?" Cassie asked Gracie." She's casting a teleportation spell." She answered as a bright light surrounded Matilda, and she vanished.
"So can you shift?" Mandy asked Gracie as they sat at the dinner table. Everyone stopped and turned to face them, interested in her answer." No, I can't." She replied honestly while the rest looked at her in surprise.
"Then what us the matter? Are you scared?" Talia asked as she placed more salad on her plate." No. It isn't that." She looked down at her own plate and played around with the rice." Then what's wrong?" Carly asked from opposite her.
She looked into her green eyes and swallowed." My wolf...She's kind of feral." Carly smiled softly." It is okay, Gracie. Maybe we can help. Have you let her out before?" She asked and she nodded." Yeah. When I was younger." She placed her food in her mouth." Then don't take this the wrong way, but maybe you're treating her differently." Gracie frowned a bit at her observation.
