"Cole?"
His eyes shot open and all she saw was purple.
She stood up from her position and touched his arm lightly." What did she do to you?"she asked softly.
His eyes shown brighter and he pushed her, causing her to tumble to the back. Almost catching herself, she tripped over a rock, and crashed to the floor. Her back hit the hard cemented ground, and she hissed as the pain spread.
She pulled herself up, watching as Serena chuckled darkly, circling around Cole." Like this new version of him?" She asked her, trailing her fingers up his arm. She moved impossibly closer to him, and Gracie resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
Now's not the time for that, Gracie. He needs your help.
Serena moved her hands higher, until she reached his face and turned him to look at her." Now I want you to kill her." She whispered to him seductively, passing him a blade.
As Gracie got back up, the light glinted off the blade and Cole edged closer to her.
She shook her head," No...I won't fight against you, Cole." She said slowly, moving back. He threw punches at her and she blocked it each time.
He backed her up against the wall, caging her in.
"Please don't do this!" She winced as he raised the knife.
' Gracie...' a voice floated through her mind.
'Matilda? Is that you?' She asked.
' Of course it's me!'
She could feel her eyes rolling in her head.
'Anyways. To save him, you have to kiss him.'
'What do you mean? This is not some kind of a fairytale. And he's not a frog.' She told her.
She looked in Cole's eyes and took a deep breath." Please Cole. Don't do this. Cassie won't forgive you because she already does." She said softly and cupped his face. She brought his face closer to hers.
Here goes nothing...
She pressed her lips against his in a soft kiss. She watched as his eyes changed from the purple to a yellow and then to his red color. She could feel hers changing according to his before changing to a rusty red and then her unusual blue color.
Serena gasped and sent her an angry glare.
"Kill her now!!!" She screamed. His eyes reverted back to purple, and before she knew it, he plunged the knife in her stomach. She winced and fell against him as the blue faded from her eyes.
She could feel herself fighting to give in and accept defeat, but when he shook his head, she knew she had to save him.
He might have been her enemy once they went back to the manor, but he was still someone who risked his life and position to save her. And for that, she had to repay her debt.
