"Thank you. For helping with this." Colton looked at Gracie. She looked up at him and her mouth pressed into a thin line.
She helped him pack the books away, when something caught her eye.
Swallowing her cautious persona for a second, she brushed her fingers over his name written in bold." You want to be a doctor?" She asked him slowly. His eyes widened slightly and found his name engraved in a gold plate." Yes...among other things." He replied softly." Among other things?"
He chuckled dryly," You are aware my brother and I are princes, correct?" She bit her lip and realised the truth behind his words and shrugged." Why a healer then? Why not just stick with your...princely duties?" She asked. He shrugged," Princely duties, as you put it, is a much more difficult task to handle than anyone thinks." She frowned questioningly." It requires a lot of focus, and well our mentors are troubling." He explained further and she nodded in understanding.
"It's a reason why Cole ran away the first chance he had."
She could've sworn she heard him muttering something under his breath but it was too incoherent.
"Gracie." Both turned around and Colton's eyes fell on the green eyed beauty before him. Carly Summers.
She gave him a small smile before turning to her sister, grinning widely." I managed to look at your blood samples and well, the results are in." Gracie's eyes widened and she smiled." If you're not too busy, you can come take a look at it." To this, Gracie nodded and Carly turned to Colton." Do you want to come take a look with us? I assume it will do well for you seeing as you are currently studying medicines."
He silently followed after them as they made their way over to Carly's lab/office.
"James was really impressed with your results seeing as there hasn't been a mix of each species in one body before...Well until you of course." Colton's eyebrows shot up at the words that escaped Carly's lips.
"Really?" Gracie asked in shock." Yeah, James was actually hoping he could conduct more tests on you. To see everything you could do and whatnot." Both sisters rolled their eyes and Gracie yawned unconsciously. Carly and Colton looked at her in concern as her body wavered a bit.
Carly grabbed her arm," When was the last time you slept?" She asked her, and moved her to the bed. Gracie shrugged, rolling her shoulder." I don't really know. I guess Thursday?" Carly raised her brow." And today is Saturday. Have you been taking your medication?" Colton stood and watched Gracie silently." I have, but it doesn't seem to be working as effectively as before. It's like he's haunting me, wanting me to follow him to this strange river."
He listened to her voice, tensing at her words.
"What does he do this time?"
Carly, being aware of her dreams, knows that this wasn't the first time it's happened. The previous times, this male she dreams of calls out to her, surrounds her, caresses her and urges her to follow him to some place. But Gracie always finds a way to wake herself up but never gets sleep after that.
"He whispers in my ear..." Colton takes in Gracie's misty eyes as she recalls her dream." He tells me that I am his...That I should follow him because where he goes is home..." His breath hitches in his throat and Carly picks it up. She gives him a look and turns back to Gracie.
"I'll tell James to higher the dosage, but for now, take it easy and don't do anything strenuous. Sounds fair right?" She told her and she nodded standing up and leaving the infirmary.
"What do you know about her dreams?" She turned her head to face him, her green eyes hardening as her wolf was brought to the surface.
