Chapter 24

They looked at her with a smile. She gasped for air and her eyes rolled to the back of her head." I will bring her once she needs blood." Cole told him. He nodded and left them there.

He sliced his bicep with the knife he found on the floor. He pressed his bicep against her lips. At first she refused but he forced her to open her mouth. It opened a little and welcomed the sweet taste of his blood. When he felt her getting stronger, he whispered, "That's enough." In her ear. She licked the wound so that it would heal faster. He rested his head on hers." I'll take you back once I've rested." He told her. She nodded and closed her eyes as he moved her to rest against him.

Once he was rested, he sat against the wall and thought. I need to get back home. She's going to kill me. He sighed and got up carefully. He noticed her eyes were closed so he slid his arms under her and gently picked her up. He carried her through the night and landed softly by the infirmary.

Zira walked out. A few nurses came out after her and brought a bed." Thank you. I'll take her in. James wants to see her." She told him as he laid Gracie on the bed." I need to get home. Bye." He greeted and flew back to his kingdom.

When he got home, his mother and Colt waited for him there." So you finally came home." She said." I'm sorry. I got caught up with something." He told her and turned to walk away." Do not turn away from me!!!" She shouted at him. He winced." Come here this instant!" She ordered him and he walked towards her." Haven't I taught you a lesson? Not to fall in love with other creatures but one who is of royalty and is of our kind! You are my son and 3rd in line to the throne. You are the prince and I don't want you falling in love with a useless girl. Especially like that half-breed. She's just like that girl... Marie!" She spat the name.

He looked at her, disappointment, anger, sadness and disgust swirling in his eyes. He walked back to his room as soon as she dismissed him. As he threw himself on the king size bed in the middle of the room, Colt walked in.

"Cole, I know this is hard for you but you have to understand-". He cut him off." Understand what?! She killed her that night all those years ago, she exiled him and she murdered a lot of people! You of all people should know how that feels, having someone take away your loved one. I've seen you with Carly for the past few months! But you say that her sister is different. She dangerous! I've seen Gracie tonight. She tried saving her sister from a witch. How in heavens name is she dangerous?!" Cole shouted at him.

"What I don't understand is how mother can live life without any remorse." He said and took of his bloody shirt. He walked over to his closet and took out a black v-neck t-shirt. Colt sighed, wanting to change the topic.

"I thank you brother, for saving Carly." He said softly. His eyes zeroed on two marks on his brother's arm." Gracie bit you?! Cole, she tasted your immortal blood! You know that is dangerous!"." Just like how you said she's dangerous too." He said sarcastically." It's payment for saving my life and for risking hers for others." He told him and put the t-shirt on. Colt let the subject drop and headed to his room.

The next day, everyone went to school." For once I'm happy to go to school."said Mandy as she, Gracie, Tessa and Mitch entered the college campus . Melissa told Michael that Melody with." How are you feeling?" Tessa asked Gracie." Still sore from what happened."she replied.

"How are you feeling?" Melody asked Mandy." Tired. You?" She said." Sad. Mom yelled at aunt Zira for not protecting Shenay." Her voice cracked.

"Ok. It seems you won't be able to handle school. Mitch can take you home." She told her. She nodded and he walked with her to the car.
