Chapter 25

As they walked over to their friends, Gracie found Cassie sitting by Cole. He's eyes found hers and they both smiled. Cassie followed his line of vision and turned around to be met with her sister.

"Gracie! We were just talking about you!" She squealed as she walked over to her and got up to hug her." Me? Nah, I think you were talking about your undying love for some guy." Gracie winked at him." Maybe. But she was talking to herself most of the time." He smiled and Cassie gasped dramatically." You!" She shoved him playfully." This is the last time I try to get you to open up!" She huffed and he smirked." Ok! I was kidding." He laughed and gracie joined him.

She likes him. She thought.

"Fine. Anyway, back to my question. What are you doing here?" Gracie rolled her eyes." Uh, I came to class for an education?" She said in a 'duh' tone.

"Well guys, it's lunch for a reason." Mitch said and slid in next to Cole. Mandy and Tessa stood by Gracie." Summers!" They heard Andy scream." Which one!?" Mitch yelled.' Oh my goddess, Mitch!' Gracie exclaimed. He looked at her." What?" She rolled her eyes at him.

"You missed me alot, didn't you?!" She told her. She stepped away from the group just as the rest.

Andy looked at one of the boys and they threw her a basketball. She smirked at her and threw it. Gracie caught it and twirled it on her finger." How about we play a rematch of dodge ball."she suggested. Everyone backed away, feeling her power seep through. She threw the ball back at her, hitting her in the face with such a force that knocked her out." You're out again." She shook her head in disappointment. The rest laughed at an unconscious Andy. She turned back to the others when the bell rang. Cole headed of to class quickly.

"How do you stand up to them?" Tessa asked her." I hate girls like them." She replied quickly and grabbed Mitch's hand and dragged him to class. When they entered, they were welcomed with a war zone. Everyone threw their food at each other." Watch out!" Someone shouted. Before they noticed, a boy called Newton jumped in front of them as an apple pie flew towards them and hit him instead. Gracie looked at the person who threw it.

"Seriously?" The person shrugged sheepishly at her. She shook her head and went to help Newton.

"Thanks man." Mitch told him as they helped him wipe the pie off.

They both froze when they found a familiar jacket on the floor." Cole!" Mitch and Gracie whispered in unison. They both turned to Newton." Newton. Where is Cole?" Gracie asked." He's on the rooftop. The girls tried flirting with him so he was chased by them." He replied. Gracie picked up his jacket and went with her brother." We have to help him before it shows." He told her as they ran up the stairs to the roof. She nodded.

They found him pressed up against the wall as the girls surrounded him." I'll go in and distract them while you sneak him downstairs. Tell Mrs Garroway that I got food poisoning and I had to get home." He said and she nodded.

He walked over to them and flashed them a charming smile." Hey girls!" He greeted. They all laughed and walked over to him and Gracie snuck up on Cole." Hey." She greeted and handed his jacket to him quickly.

"Hey." She covered his wing and ushered him downstairs.

When they reached the classroom, the teacher faced them." Summers! Griffen! Where were you?!" She looked at them." I was with Mitch. He and I went looking for Cole and found him sick by the wall. I think they both had food poisoning." She said. The teacher looked at them and told them to go sit down.' Thanks.' She heard Cole murmur. She looked over at him and smirked.

She turned her attention back to the teacher.

When the bell rang signaling them that classes were over, Gracie decide to walk home when she heard wings flapping. Maybe it's Cole or Colt. One part of her said. But Cole doesn't fly during the day. Too many humans. Another said.

Before going on with her walk, arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her up.

"Hold on!" Someone called from above.

She squirmed until she noticed something. A taser! She took it out of her pocket and and stung the male's arm a little." Ah! Why would you do that?!" He yelled and dropped her. She tried shifting into a bird, when another pair of arms caught her." Grace, hold on! I'm going to land is. " She heard Cole's voice and clutched him tighter when she noticed how high they were." Do you know how glad I am to hear your voice?" She asked and he chuckled.

When they landed, Cole grabbed her arm and pushed her body behind his and waited for the other male. He turned to face her." I want you to run the other way. No matter what, don't turn back." They heard footsteps landing on the ground and turned to face the guy." Grace, go!" He ordered. She nodded quickly, turned around and ran.

Once she was far from them, she dialed Mandy's number and told her what happened." Go to him. I'm now there. Do not do anything, okay?" She told her." Okay. Bye." She ended the call and walked back to Cole with her gun clutched behind her. Cole and the other guy faced her." What are you doing?!" Cole asked harshly." She's helping you!" Mandy called from the other side, behind the guy. They all looked at her. She looked at Gracie and her sister shook her head.

"Ok. Since you won't know who we are, let's introduce ourselves?" She looked at the guy." I'm Tamara Alexander..."." ...And I'm Marie Claire." Both sisters lied. Gracie heard Cole's intake of breathe and looked at him. He shook his head and focused on the guy in front.

"Shut up, will you?!" The guy shouted at them." Who are you?!" She retorted.

"I'm Kaine Griffen, but you can call me Kendall."
