It didn't take long for a waitress to approach us, with clothes barely covering her tattoos and I thought she was going to suffocate Aubrey with her siliconed breasts.

"Newspaper Boy! I missed seeing you around here." She with a with cheesy smile.

"Hey Rose, nice to see you." He at least has himself together. A bit embarrassed, I could say. "Rose, this my friend, Nicki."

She made me a face, one warning was enough. But just wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of seeing irritated by way she's caring herself around my boy.

"How are you, Rose? Aubrey never told me about you, but it's a pleasure to meet you. All of Aubrey's friends are also my friends, right babe?" Plus a fake smile and cut.

"Hmm, pleasure... What will I get you guys?" She keeps on chewing her gum while writing something real quick on her notepad.

As we were making our orders, I was being murdered a hundred different ways by this girl.

"Thank you taking Rose off my back. It's always like that when I come here." Aubrey's genuine relief surprises me.

"I thought you liked the attention women give you."

"Not when they're too clingy and happen to be your friend's daughter." I raise an eyebrow in a questioning way. "Johnny and Rose own the place. We moved here when she was just a little baby."

"Huh, you have a lot of friends."

"It's the bright side of the job." He takes a gulp of his beer.

"And I thought you were going to rub in your charm."

Another waitress comes and fills our tables with slides of different pizzas we ordered and the drinks.

"Oh, so Miss Nicki Minaj is finally admitting that I'm charming." He smirks after the girl left.

"Not in your dreams playboy." I say taking a bite of a Pepperoni.

Suddenly I forgot why I stopped eating my heart out and started this brainwash on healthy food programs and diets. I missed these juicy/greasy food.

"So what's the deal with your family?" He asks me after a while.

"What do you mean?"

"I saw your cousins gossiping and eyeing us when they saw us together."
Ugh, why did he had to ask that right now?

"We've never been the best friends..." He gives me a look to go on. "Back in the days I was the odd kid, they didn't give as shit about me, always picked Nicole over me. We grew up but the attitude towards me was the same."

"I sensed the tension between you and Nicole. There's a story there, huh?" He asks finishing his mug and gave the waitress who served us a signal for another round.

"You have no idea, but I think we overcame a few things this year. Sure there's nothing that's going to erase the past between us but we'll be looking forward than backwards."
I think I found a new catch-phrase. Applause for my improvising.

"Good for you. You never know who you end up friends with. It can be someone with nothing in common with you, it can blow your mind."

"I know, I think it's weird how you and Tyga are friends. You guys are so different." I comment sipping my fruity cocktail.

"Well, he was bit more of gangster while I was more a goody-two-shoes. Probably why Robyn broke up with him." He chuckles at the end.

"R-Robyn?" Saying her name out loud knowing what had happened seems a little weird to me but this made me a bit curious.

"Yeah, they had a little fling before he made it big. They never really said what had happened between them. I think they made a deal or something, 'friendship above all', ya know" Aubrey seems a bit more relaxed and open now.

"Right. That whole friendship above all thing has given me a few headaches in the past."

We started talking on the things Justine has put me through and soon enough we were on about our jobs and careers. I don't think I've ever had a conversation with someone of such sense of humor yet can be very serious like Aubrey. I was really liking our our conversations were flowing so naturally.

"Drake!"

A man with a crazy hairstyle appears beside us with a group of other guys, each one holding an instrument.

"Roger, buddy! How are you, man?" They did their man shake. "What are you doing here? I thought you moved."

"Man, I did move, but I came back. LA is already home, plus I can't stay away from the guys." He points to the almost ready stage were some people were setting up some few last touches. "It's an open mic day, we're playing tonight. A guy needs some spare change from time to time. You up for a few vocals?"

Aubrey's smile was more than enough to answer his friend's request. And just like that, it was about to start one of the best nights I've ever had.
