Third person POV
After the unexplainable incident that happened in the kitchen Daniel always felt like something was watching him, but with what happened it might as well be true. He had tried his hardest to forget the whole situation and he managed for a few hours when he was with the boys but as soon as he was alone everything came back to him and it just would not stop.
Passing nights he had dreams about the...thing...he felt like a five year old boy who had nightmares and would either wet his bed or go and cry to his parents, Daniel knew it was okay and normal to have bad dreams but not constantly like this and if one of the boys found out he wouldn't ever hear the end of it. So as a result he stayed quiet and would often think about how he might actually be insane. And if he wasn't, Daniel would be soon if this kept up.
Currently Jonah and Zach were sat on the couch and Corbyn on the chair next to them. They were all watching a horror movie, well more like Jonah and Corbyn were watching it while Zach would hide his face every five seconds. ( I know Corbyn and Jonah are not fans of horror but for the sake of the book go along with it)
Daniel had passed with an excuse of "I'm tired" but it was probably the biggest bullshit that ever crawled out of his mouth. Instead of sleeping he was cooped up on the bay window in his room.
Daniel had added a bunch of pillows and blankets to make it more comfortable to sit on. he even added a few lights just because he thought it looked cute. Right outside his window was a open view of a field. He felt like it would be better to look at if all of it wasn't covered in mud and nasty left over snow. All the leaves on the trees were gone and he would have to wait a couple months until they came back.
While he was looking out the window he thought about if he should tell the boys about what he experienced or just wait. Maybe not tell them at all and after a lot of weighing out the pros and cons he decided on waiting and seeing if they noticed anything themselves.
Just staring out the window became boring and he looked around for something to do. His eyes landed on his guitar in the corner of the room sitting in it's stand. A slight smile began to find its way on his face and he forced himself out of his cozy spot and walked over gently grabbing the guitar then returned back to his previous spot. He thought again for a minute of what to play and soon decided on "La Vie En Rose"
His eyes closed as his fingers did their own thing. Music was a very close thing to him. The brunette would always lose himself to the beat. The music calmed him in a way that nothing else could. He continued to sing but slowly stopped when he opened his eyes. His fairy lights were off.
Groaning in frustration he placed the instrument next to him and got it. The boy kneeled down and grumbled a string of profanities. After three times of inspecting it he couldn't figure out why they weren't turning back on. He even put the batteries in his TV remote to see if it was the batteries but they worked for the remote. The poor boy was beyond confused. He just bought both the lights and the batteries when the boys went out shopping four days after they moved in. And now they suddenly weren't working.
"Come on!" He groaned and slapped the battery case one more time in frustration. Now he was just aggravated.
"Why aren't you wo-" he stopped mid sentence as he looked at the string of the lights. Every single one shined bright and looked perfectly new like they were supposed to. He smiled and stood up completely doing a victory dance. He was still aggravated by the situation but happy they were working again.
"I fixed them!" He rejoiced. He did not fix them. The lights were never broken but the happy dancing boy was oblivious to that. A slight flicker caught Daniels attention and he slowly stopped dancing. He eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as he stood straight. The string of lights had become very dim, so dim you would have thought they were shut off. He slowly walked over to them and grabbed one rolling it back and forth between his finger inspecting it.
"What the hell, I just fixed them and now they are broken again!" He said aloud and dropped the light groaning in frustration and glanced at all the lights. As soon as he went to leave his room once again the lights had lit up brightly. But this time they were blinking. Daniel stared at them and then began to notice a pattern. Quickly he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from his desk and began writing what he saw.
When he had finished his eyes widened and he read over the paper repeatedly. He dropped it and turned to the lights. They had stop blinking and went back to a dim state like before, but they began to get brighter and brighter not stoping and soon Daniel had to cover his eyes. His feet moved back and his body slammed into his door. A loud shatter rang out into the room and probably throughout the whole house glass going everywhere pieced landing in front of his feet.
Daniel jumped, his heart pounding and took his shaking hands away from his face. He looked at his room that was now dark and the shattered bits of glass that coated the floor and soon tears began to flow down his face and sobs escaped his throat. To say he was terrified was an understatement.
"Daniel open up!" He heard Corbyn's voice through that door but he couldn't, his was frozen to that one spot blocking the door. Corbyn continued to pound on the door and Daniel could hear Zach and Jonah talking as well asking him to open the door. He felt the door being forced open but he continued to stare straight ahead as cries escaped his mouth and his arms wrapped around himself. Soon Corbyn and Jonah came into view. But he couldn't focus on what they were saying.
"Come on Daniel, look at me" Corbyn begged as he gripped Daniels shoulders. Jonah sat next to the two with a worried look. The youngest stood next to the door looked to his right and flipped to switch to the light in the room and looked around seeing the broken shards of glass and the strand of lights. He walked around and bent down picking up a piece of paper. He read it confused.
"I warned you - J. R. A. " he read out to the boys catching Jonah and Corbyn's attention. He turned and looked up from the paper and at them.
"What the hell does that mean, who's J. R.A . ?" He questioned. The three boys looked back at Daniel who had now calmed down and was leaning against Corbyn's chest gripping his shirt. But his gaze remained straight ahead and he did not utter a word.
