April Summers is very much used to the weird things that happen to her on a daily basis, however, one encounter forces her over...
"Are you sure that she's a nephlym?"Ji soo asked the four guardians. "Of course we're sure, why would we report otherwise" Chang sun said. Ji soo eyed the salamander skeptically, there was no way they'd found a nephlym it had been centuries since there had been one . "How do you know and why is she only appearing now" Ji soo asked. "She's had a cloaking spell over her which was removed when she stepped out into the full moon. She had half a halo over her head, which as you know is visible to all supernatural creatures or humans with divine powers" Chang sun said.
"Well where is she, summon her to the palace at once, we must break this dreaded curse over the crown prince as soon as possible" the king said. "She's a gisaeng at Chung hwa, your majesty" Daeman said. "Well bring her in at once and let this be over and done with!" He said and left the throne room.

Yeon joo didn't feel like leaving her room, a lot had happened the night before and she was utterly confused. She sat on her blankets still dressed in the hanbok she'd worn the night before and her hair which she always wore in a chignon had somehow come undone. "What is your problem today, you're usually out in the forest by this time" Yeon joo stared at her ghost friend and shook her head. "I don't know who I am" Yeon joo said.
"What are you talking about, you're Chae wons daughter, Yeon joo" the ghost girl said. Yeon joo shook her head and stood up. "No I'm April Summers, at least I was April Summers until..." Herghost friend looked at her as if she'd grown another head. "April Summers?? What is that?"
"Its my name, I mean it used to- never mind, I need to see grandmother at once" Yeon joo said and walked towards the door but her ghost friend held her back. "At least fix your hair up and go take a bath, what if there are customers about"
Yeon joo brushed her hair and made it into a single braid then she used the cloth and bowl of water withlavender oil in one corner of her room and wiped her body, she'd take a proper bath later.
Yeon joo found Eun Chae at the back of the gibang giving orders as usual. "Grandmother, we need to talk" she said and stared at the old woman pointedly. How was it that she was in the joseon era but also in the year 2016, although she was a lot older in 2016 and she was Chinese. "Good you're awake, you and other gisaeng are going to the palace in a few hours go and get prepared" Eun Chae said.
"But grandmother there's something we have to talk about urgently" Yeon joo whined. Eun Chae scwoled at her "There is nothing to discuss,you know everything you need to know. The only thing I'll say to you is to heed my warning and avoid the forbidden one, now run along child" Eun Chae said and walked away.
Yeon joo went back to her room to change into her bathing gown and took her soap and sponge. She went to the bathhouse and found Yeona and three other girls in the large bath water. "You need to go away and come back after we're done. We are getting ready to go to the palace " Yeona said. Yeon joo took off her bathing gown and stepped into the water. "Well that's good to know, I'm going to the palace too" she said and began bathing.
"What! Says who?" Yeona said looking outraged. Yeon joo wasn't in the mood to deal with Yeona, she had a lot on her mind and so much more to figure out. Where would sheeven start? She completely ignored Yeona and bathed quickly.
She left the bath area just as soon as she'd come in. She wasn't one to waste time when preparing and as such she was ready long before the other gisaeng. The guardsarrived just as Yeona and the other gisaeng were ready and the girls were escorted to the palace. Since they were going to the palace all the girls had to wear the same hanbok so that there wouldn't be any unnecessary contest. No one dared to speak as they made their way to the palace but Yeon joo was extremely uncomfortable for some reason. The closer they got to the palace, the more her discomfort grew.
When they arrived at the palace, they were taken to the north wing of the palace. "You may move around the north wing of the palace but you're not allowed to leave the north wing unless you've been given instructions to do so" the guards said and left. "This is so exciting, I can't believe we're in the palace to serve the crown prince!" One of the girls said. "Do you think he'll have all of us tonight?" another girl chimed in. "Don't be ridiculous! I will be with the prince tonight, the rest of you will serve his guards" Yeona said.
Yeon joo rolled her eyes and left the girls sitting at a table, sheneeded to get some air. There was a strange supernatural presence in the palace that made it difficult for her to think clearly. She wondered around the north wing trying to find the strange presence that made her uneasy.
"My god it's true, you really are a nephlym" Yeon joo heard a voice say behind her, she spun around and stood face to face with the darkest looking woman she'd ever seen. The woman's skin was extremely pale yet her expression was so dark, there was absolutely no light in her at all. Yeon joo wondered how a human being could have such a dark soul, nonetheless this woman's presence was not the one that bothered her.
"Who are you and how do you know that I'm a nephlym?" Yeon joo asked. The woman smiled at her and Yeon joo wished she hadn't seen such a dark smile. "Anyone with supernatural powers can see it child, do you know why you've been brought here?"
"To serve the crown prince and his guards" Yeon joo answered. "That is just a formality. The prince is the thousand years old soul and his life will be cursed unless he sleeps with you, that is why you are here. How fortunate that you're a gisaeng so this should not bother you at all" the woman said. Yeon joo nodded slowly and took a deep breath.
"I am Ji soo, I'm in charge of Sogyeokseo. Be sure to keep what I've just told you to yourself, I will see you again very soon" the woman said and left. Yeon joo stared at the spot that the woman had been standing in, the presence she'd been dreading was behind her.
"We meet again" he said and Yeon joo was forced to turn and face him.
