Jiraiya left the village for the following four months and within his first day back, he spent his time at the local bar.
He was surprised when he looked up from his drink and locked gazes with a fierce sea green gaze. The owner's finger was pointed in his face, squatting down so they were head-to-head.
"Listen up. You will teach me, Ayame Uchiha the substitution jutsu." She announced and crossed her arms, standing up straight. Her hair was all down now and her body had visibly matured from their last meeting. Although, she was still rather small for her age.
"And why would I do that?"
"Listen up old man!" Ayame spoke. "My teachers don't want to teach me anything anymore so I've decided to refer to my own methods. You, one of the great Sanin, can become a teacher to me and help me excel. "
Jiraiya gave her an unimpressed look. "What makes you think I want to teach you if our own senseis can't get through your head?"
"You will teach me whether you want to or not!" She snapped, leaning down to grip ahold of his collar. The fire in her eyes sent a rare chill down Jiraiya's back as he gazed into them.
"Alright." He threw his hands up and calmly stood.
"Wait, really?" Ayame cocked her head as Jiraiya turned his back and headed for the exit.
"You've convinced me." He shrugged. "You've got guts, something I rarely see in this generation. Demanding someone like me to teach you something..." he trailed off and scoffed. "You May have just earned some respect from me, kid."
Ayame leapt off the counter and followed after him.
"Are you messing with me?" She narrowed her eyes, following Jiraiya.
"No, no." He shook his head. Eventually he led her to a clearing, sitting down. Ayame squatted down infront of him, narrowing her eyes.
Jiraiya pulled out a scroll and unraveled it. It stretched far inside the clearing, symbols along it.
"There are many summonings you can choose from. I'm the frog sage although there's a summoning for nearly any animal. What's your favorite animal?"
"Ummm...A Fox!"
"No, no." Jiraiya shook his head. He peered down at her, cocking his head slightly.
"How about I introduce you to the felines."
"Felines...?"
"Cats." he rephrased. His scroll retracted to a certain point where cat drawings were scribbled on pages and names written everywhere.
"Alright Ayame." He leaned forward and took her thumb.
"Contracts between us and summonings are sealed with your blood. If you happen to die, the contract is over. When you bite your thumb and place it on this scroll, you will be transported to their world. Cats aren't always the friendliest when it comes to newcomers, so if you want the best results you should locate their medicine cat, Koto. She's extremely neutral and welcoming, unlike most of the others. You ready?"
Ayame nodded, swallowing nervously.
"Remember, this is what you wanted." He nodded. Ayame took a bite from her finger and hesitantly brought her hand down on the paper. Her body immediately disappeared, leaving a small drip of blood on the cat crest.
Her body appeared infront of a large tree, surrounded by other regular sized trees. She looked around warily, her breaths hitching in slight fear of the unknown.
