"I freaked out!" Ayame huffed as Naruto fussed at her. She flicked his forehead roughly in defeat and rolled her eyes.
"Do it on your own." Ayame growled. Irritated, she walked off, crossing her arms as she looked up to see Guy. He leaned against the building with a puzzled brow lifted up.
"Hey Guy." She leaned against the building as he looked over a paper.
"What's that?"
"A mission for Lee and I." He explained as Ayame nodded and peered over his shoulder.
"Sounds fun." She mused as he sighed and shrugged.
"What's wrong with you? You're usually happy about this sort of stuff."
"I'm just-" he yawned. "Tired."
"I understand." Ayame replied solemnly. She glanced away before standing up straight and heading to the right. "See you later!"
Ayame smelt the chakra in the air before she understood what was going on. Ayame was just outside the hospital when she heard the grunts of a fierce battle happening and looked up.
"Rasengan!" Her eyes widened in realization as she leapt onto the roof. Naruto and Sasuke charged at each other with large jutsus, too close for Ayame to stop. Relief washed over her as Kakashi seemed to have the same idea as her and grabbed Naruto and his opponent's wrist and twirled them away from each other. They each landed their jutsus against a water tank, panting and looking up at each other angrily.
Sakura, who was also running, stopped and Ayame glared at the pair.
"What do you two think you're doing up here?" Kakashi asked. "That was a little intense for just a sparring match, wasn't it? What's wrong with you two?"
Naruto and Sasuke moved their hands, Naruto's a pitiful small trickle of water. Sasuke chuckled and Ayame lurched forward.
"What were you thinking? Were you really going to kill him, Sasuke?" She growled.
"You've really got to watch this sense of superiority you have." Kakashi hummed. "That chidori, it was not the size you'd aim at a comrad form the Leaf village."
He was silent and Ayame crossed her arms.
"When are you finally going to grow up Sasuke?" Kakashi asked.
Sasuke leapt around the water tanks and left them to glare after him.
Ayame moved onto Naruto's tank, looking at Sakura as she sobbed softly.
"Kakashi-sensei." She murmured.
"Well, so much for teamwork." He hummed as Ayame sighed, hopping down to the ground. Kakashi had to handle his student's rivalry on his own, nothing Ayame could do would help.
Ayame hadn't seen Kakashi or his team the following two days. Sayakah skipped training to help her with work around the house, but the third morning she was back to training.
"Ayame!" She looked back to see Kakashi, running towards her in the street.
"Hey, where have you been?" She smiled faintly as he grabbed her wrist, eye's overtaken with a serious gleam.
"It's Naruto I think something's wrong."
"What?" Ayame whispered as he stared at her.
